Why Drama Education?

I chose to be a drama educator because it combines my two greatest passions: teaching and theatre! I believe that the performing arts are the most crucial for a child's development. They provide people skills, public speaking skills, and community.

When I fell in love with the stage

I never thought of myself as a performer when I was growing up because I was afraid to speak in front of a crowd. However, everything changed when I did my first middle school production of Bye Bye Birdie. Getting to sing and laugh with my friends on stage changed the course of my life and opened me to the possibility of using theatre as a way to grow.

Learning in the limelight
