Maureen stabbed mom.  It happened after mom decided it was time for Maureen to develop a little self-sufficiency by moving out and finding a place of her own."
Maureen's defiant behavior became violent and she ended up stabbing her own mother just because she couldn't stand being kicked out by her mother.

Trying to avoid help when needed is the last thing needed and sometimes is hard to make the right decision for the person in question.

People with mental health issues are more common than some would think and they live just fine either with or without help they may need for it.
