For the past several decades, some Christians have declared that they know the date and time of Christ's return or the end of the world, predictions sometimes based on numerology. But these contentions should be ignored, leading theologians say, and they rest on a misunderstanding of both the text of Scripture and how time works in the Bible.

The latest instance, according to Fox News Friday, comes from "Christian numerologist" David Meade whose interpretation of Luke 21:25 — taken together with recent events like the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse over the contiguous United States and Hurricane Harvey—has led him to conclude that the world will end this Saturday, Sept. 23.

Short answer — no.

But David Meade, a Christian and self-published author of end-of-the-world survival guides, predicts doomsday is near — very near, as in this Saturday.

Meade’s ideology, laid out in his book “Planet X — The 2017 Arrival,” is described by the author as “a compendium of information from every sphere—astronomical, scientific, the Book of Revelation and geopolitics.” There’s some astrology in there, too.

David Morrison, a senior space scientist at NASA, says that if Nibiru were really on a collision course with Earth, we would have seen it by now.

"It would be bright," he says, per the Post. "It would be easily visible to the naked eye."

But that's not dissuading Meade, who points to the fact that Sept. 23 falls 33 days after last month's total solar eclipse as proof of his prophecy.

“Jesus lived for 33 years. The name Elohim, which is the name of God to the Jews, was mentioned 33 times [in the Bible],” Meade told The Washington Post. “It’s a very biblically significant, numerologically significant number. I’m talking astronomy. I’m talking the Bible … and merging the two.”

Ironically, a producer at a Montreal radio station said she tried to book an interview with Meade but he said he's not available until next week.

The Christian Post did accurately gather and share the majority of this story. But in the end, whether or not the story is even true, whether or not it'll even happen, cannot be confirmed until this weekend. Clearly it is not an advertisement, it doesn't show any product for consumers, it is not paid content, the information can be gathered for free. It is a story, and one that is, at the moment, exploding on the internet.
