A reason that agriculture is so interesting to me

There are many reasons why I love agriculture, but there is one reason that is the most interesting to me. The number one reason I love agriculture so much is being able to watch everything go from a seed to a crop, and knowing you had a big part of that is pretty cool to me. It is almost like having a kid if you think about it you are going from putting it in the ground to watching it and taking care of it by watering it, giving it nutrients that it needs through fertilizer, and spraying chemicals to keep bugs, fungus, and weeds away until it is fully matured.

This small town I live in showed me a lot of things but hard work has to be the one I am the most grateful for. Most people may not know until halfway through college what they want to do for a living, but that wasn't me. Growing up my dad owned a construction business, but I knew at an early age I did not want to do that. I found out that I was in love with agriculture after working on a family friend's farm. There is something about watching a plant go from a seed to a crop that I have always enjoyed

I now work for Helena chemical. I love what I do because I get to firsthand see the seed go into the ground when it gets its first shot of chemical or fertilizer until it is time for that crop to come out. For Helena, I handle tissue and soil samples, along with driving a fertilizer rig. Driving the fertilizer rig is something that I enjoy because I get to put my hand on helping that plant get the nutrients that it needs.
