They were able to use information learned from module 1 readings to inform families about either the benefits or harmful impacts of technology use on teenagers. One way this could be enhanced would be to share the PSAs with a real audience, such as the OPA school community or perhaps some of our district elementary schools.          <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>I had students work in groups to create an online news site highlighting the dangers of child labor. I could enhance this project by having students do video reporting then uploading their report onto the site. </p></li><li><p>We have a new curriculum next year. So Unit 1 is Civilization of the Americas. </p></li><li><p>I am not 100% sure what I will have students create since it's a new unit. But since I teach mostly ELL students and beginning of year coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month, I would try to have students compare unique parts of their culture and identify what is similar to Incan, Mayan, and Aztec cultures. </p></li><li><p>I would give students the opportunity to share research and also reflect on similar aspects of their culture together. </p></li><li><p>I provide translated and modified directions. Trying to provide resources that use read aloud audio features, or showing and encouraging students to use programs that do play the text in English (google translate &amp; KAMI do this). I also always provide students with visual examples &amp; past models. </p></li></ol>]]></description>

One of the topics that is introduced in the module is that teenagers are highly responsive to rewards. I think that it would be interesting to explore this further and to get the student to create their own reward system based on clasroom or personal goals, or some other project to "test the theory" about rewards as a source of motivation.</p>]]></description>

I enhance this activity by having students to use a camera to  record the marble speed in slow motion and find answers to other questions. </p>]]></description>
