Kepler's laws of planetary motion were impacted to many other astronomers. Two well-known astronomers, Pierre Gassendi and Jeremiah Horrocks, observed the transits of Mercury in 1631 and Venus in 1639, respectively, both of which confirmed the predictions that Kepler had made many years earlier. With the discoveries of this theory Kepler wrote his public defense and Martin Luther didn't like his theory.
