The most lonely character has hands down got to be, the rancher Cluley. Why? Because he is old and he did just lose his puppy he had from like day one. And how this can really affect his behavior. Since he is lonely, he just kinda wonders by himself, and doesn’t really like outsiders or company in that matter. I’m sure he is also a grouch, it didn’t actually state this, but I’m sure he is a very hard lover of people and doesn’t have patients for them. But I have actually been lonley, and it affects you hardcore. It almost makes you not want to do anything, kinda like being lazy. At least for me. I kinda just sat there and was bored because I had no one to hangout with. It really sucks bad. But once you get over it you should be pretty okay to walk it off. But the difference between with both me and cluley is that he was lonely and was sad and never wanted to be around people, since his dog died. And when I’m lonely I am desprest to find people to hangout with. Kinda funny how that works out between both of us.

We all decided that Crooks was the lonliest in the farm. We thought that Crooks was the lonliest because he was the only black person on the farm and because of this,he had to sleep in a different part of the farm. We also assumed that everyone was racist back then so everyone was probably racist to Crooks aswell.

Crooks without a doubt is the loneliest character in mice of men. the second he was born he was put in a category of people who were considered less than human because of their skin color. He would never be able to make friends with who he wants. He would never be able to plan out his future with a family and a dream job. Loneliness was almost unavoidable even from a. young age. And when he grew up it just got worse. He was sold and bought like property just to work all day in the boiling sun. He wasn't allowed to play cards with his friends like all of the white men did. He wasn't allowed in their houses. This affected his behavior by him using his loneliness and vulnerability and turning it into sort of a weapon or manipulation.

We believe that the loneliest character in Mice and Men is Crooks. In the chapter in which Crooks is introduced we see him often mention how lonely he he is for various reasons. For example, when Lennie and him began to talk the first thing he brought up is how he will never get to play solitaire with the other men. When Lennie mentions how lucky he is to have a room of his own he response with: "there is a pile of manure under my window." This response shows that he tends to look at the bad side of things which, we believe, is an outcome of his constant state of loneliness.(his race is a major contributor to this loneliness)

We believe Crooks is the loneliest. We said this because he is separated from the rest of the group. This is because of his race. He talks about how he used to have to brothers whom he did everything with. Now he rarely talks with anyone in the house.

Of Mice And Men - Loneliest Character
Although Lennie is posed as a character confined to his own ideas, he has George to support and guide him. A more appropriate character to be labeled as the loneliest is Crooks. He has an image forced upon him to be separated from the others because of the color of his skin, and he grows to accept that he has been placed into this position and holds loneliness as his defining feature. It is a perfect representation of discrimination and how it affects the victim's mindset.
