Candidates will defend their research before their Dissertation Committee and guests. All presentations will be held virtually using GoToMeeting. Candidates should log into the meeting 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.
The defense should be scheduled in advance (by Module 1) in collaboration with EPT Department Manager. 

NOTE: 

• After completing results or findings (Chapter 4) and discussion, limitations, and conclusions (Chapter 5), the dissertation is ready to be submitted for final review. The dissertation committee may use the Rubric for Evaluation of Dissertation to evaluate the dissertation for the final time. Form D – Dissertation Review should also be completed by the dissertation committee after final review of the completed dissertation. After completing the final review, the dissertation must be submitted to Turnitin for another plagiarism check. Next, students orally defend the dissertation in front of the committee. Form E – Oral Defense   is completed at this time.  A manuscript cannot be considered successfully defended until all members of the dissertation committee agree that the manuscript has passed. The manuscript is scored along four dimensions on a scale of 1-5. A minimum score of 3.0 is needed in each dimension for it to pass.  An oral defense cannot be considered successful until all members of the committee agree that the oral defense has passed. The oral defense is scored along four dimensions on a scale of 1-5. A minimum score of 3.0 is needed in each category for the oral defense to pass).
