We can't get up and get active with this in class like normal, but Y4 found last year that drawing out favourite phrases eg "8 x 7 is 56, do some cosmic football tricks!" can be both fun and memory jogging.

My class have been asking to play it each day - and I have noticed how much speedier they have got.  A good 10 minute end of the day game. The children do a big, loopy, continuous line that overlaps - essentially a big scribble! In the smaller loops, they write the facts they’re most confident with. They fill the bigger ones with the facts they’re less confident with.
It can be jazzed up even more than this example from one of my Y3s by using different colours for different facts...rainbow scribbles!
