Dear April,
I can't believe this is happening to you. Your father was shot at in court and now your family is on the run. I know it probably sucks living in Florida, but it is for the best. The worst thing you did is lie to your parents and run away. They care about you and wanna keep safe, they are not trying to ruin your life. I'm glad you came to your senses after seeing what mike did to your grandma. I hope you and your grandma make it back to Florida quickly and safely.
Your Friend,
Stephen

1. Innocuous-not harmful or offensive
"After I’d completed the letter I reread it carefully. As far as I could see, it was totally innocuous, void of every shred of real information."(Duncan 43)
This is when April tried to send a letter to Steve, but was taken by Vamp to find out where they were
2. Apprehension- anxiety or fear that something bad or unpleasant will happen
"As we entered the room, they turnedr to face us, and a chill of apprehension shot through me as I saw the expressions on their faces."
This the moment when April realized they had to leave Norwood.
3. Wispy- fine, feathery
"I could see the of his scalp peeking out through the wispy strands of gray and was suddenly, painfully reminded of my Grandpa Clyde."
April is describing her former bodyguard, Jim Peterson.

The genre of this book is horror. Horror is an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. This book is full of scary unexpected moments.
"He's there at the window!" I told her. "Don't you see him?" I gestured toward the glass, but the face was gone. All that could be seen was a world of blackness, alive with the eerie movement of wind-tossed tree branches .
