The fertile crescent was made up of fiver valleys which led to extremely fertile soil, and good places to settle cities, despite the unpredictable flood patterns, and the low amount of natural barriers. They were built to be viewed from both sides and they were called, "relief sculptures." 
The Hittites were not very fond of arts, however, there are a couple of Hittite sculptures that have been discovered.

The societies were kept in order thanks to hegemony, the people in charge would provide protection and planning for civilizations while the lower classes would work and pay for these things to happen. They traded with people from Egypt to India. Through this mass, trading was mass cultural diffusion. People spread ideas to each other through trade. This caused more diversity throughout all ancient civilizations that engaged in trading. Each different civilization had its city where the ruler would be. Mesopotamian cultures were hierarchical and not everyone was considered equal.
