Let's talk visually ! Share a picture here of an interesting/ memorable time in your life and write 100-120 words about it.
This was a strange and quixotic trip my daughter and I took to Aird Uig, a remote part of the Outer Hebrides, off the coast of Scotland. It was April 2016 and we spent 3 days there - walking in absolute desolate land. Our flight from Edinburgh to the nearest airport was Stornoway - a good 1.5 hours from this completely off-the-beaten track place! A kind fellow passenger on our flight actually drove us there, since there was no public transport available. Aird Uig has more sheep than people. But we stayed in a delightful bed and breakfast place called Seacroft Inn.
So the question is what aspect of my leadership does this narrative convey :-)?
Feel free to comment below

This image is from one of the trips I have made every year with each of my classes. This week is one of the highlights of our year. What does it have to do with leadership? When you are away from school with a bunch of kids to a remote location, you are responsible for every aspect of their well-being -physical, social and emotional. You are no longer just a teacher. You are leading a group of adults and children. The decisions you take impact their learning and their experience. And if you allow yourself, it is also a great opportunity to see beyond the students you are used to in the classroom and to be surprised and awed by their skills and talents in an 'outside-the-classroom' context. I think the same would help in my approach to interacting with teachers in my team.

This is an art form from Japan where broken pottery is lovingly put together with gold. It addresses the idea of embracing flaws and imperfections.
I learnt about Kintsugi recently. The notion of embracing authenticity and imperfections, highlighting rather than hiding the scars and celebrating these imperfections are new lenses that I view the world through. When I make a mistake, I can shrug and say "Kintsugi" - I will fix it with my best efforts and that it'll be the best I can give. And for people around me - Kintsugi again. I embrace you for who you are - cracks and all. There is always, always, a streak of gold that can make you a better person. It is never the end.

This image is very close to my heart. I remember in one of our family trips, I saw this five year old child sitting and struggling and trying to stack some stones. But every time it was falling. He must have tried this 7/8 times.

My eyes meet his gaze and I just walked to him and told him that why can't he do this one more time but this time may be keeping the bigger stone first stones.

The above image is his creation which I captured in my lens.

I realized encouragement and little guidance is a great motivator. It makes people exert greater effort to accomplish their objectives. It helps to make people successful in their endeavours.

This is a picture of the first ever teacher's day card I recieved. My first year of teaching; the most notorious of the children in my class (or so labeled). I never expected that this child would give me such a heartfelt card or even that my presence made a difference to him. This is the day I realised the power I have in my hands -to shape the life of a child. Since then I have kept this as a reminder that even if I may not know but as a teacher I am touching lives and in some small way leading the change.

I was pleasantly taken aback by this message by my former student on Teacher's day .It made me emotional, happy, proud and ecstatic at the same time. I was surprised by sheer thought of how just by smiling, encouragement ,listening, support and guidance I was able to touch her life and help her in achieving her vision. This message conveys out and loud that a true leader needs to be empathetic and connect with people.

This picture inspires me for future possibilities and very close to my philosophy. I always see possibilities in everything, every moment, every situation. For me, children are always full of possibilities. In contrast to the expectations, possibilities are based in the present moments. Exploring possibilities stimulates the mind and makes life interesting, provides energy and motivation.
If we are open to possibilities, we are open to change. Possibilities are always empowering, allows us to forgive ourselves and others.
"EXPECTATIONS EXPIRE BUT POSSIBILITIES ALWAYS STAY YOUNG."

This was a very successful day where we got 34 students all excited about carrying out this activity in groups, bringing them together as a cohesive unit. It was a very gratifying day - Shukti Dutt

Team Building- Collaboration
This is my first trip to Mumbai on a PYP Training. It was a turning point as I learnt a lot from the three days session. It was an eye open and understood how collaboration is important in an educational field. I was able to meet many people from across the globe. All learners were tolerant and shared a wide range of ideas irrespective from where they are...
A leader should accept everyone's perspective and collaboration is of utmost important.

This picture tell about leading the team by being with the team while guiding the team not from being ahead or away from of the team and just preaching or giving instructions. For me leadership is being empathic, having the skills of inquiry and having a collaborative learning approach.

This is a picture of a shoes rack made by my students. The most memorable day when my students constructed this. As we have a Project based learning where we have a hands on experience. My little stars of grade V constructed this by using the PVC pipes. They researched a lot and made this as best out of waste. In this they learnt Math, Science and SSC and also ICT skills are been developed. I felt very happy on the day of launch. We have sponsored to our school and now it is used by school students when they go for Karate.
