We read and study migration patterns.

We got online and toured Ellis Island. I felt

like I was an immigrant. We compared &

contrasted immigrant to emmigrant. We looked

at population maps over many years and saw

patterns.

We learned about urban, suburban,

and rural areas. We explored our Parker

community by looking at an open space map.

We saw that there is little left. This is causing lots

of problems. We discussed what we can

do as citizens in our community to make sure

it doesn't continue to decrease.

The Constitution for Kids 11-4-13

Somethings can be hard for kids to

understand because it is written for

adults to read. We read 'We the Kids,'

which helped us understand the

Preamble. We collaborated in teams

and interpreted the Preamble for kids

here at GRE. It is hanging outside of our

room. We drew pictures to help

Our Community-Restoring It When Broken 8-15-13

We are a family, a community, a unit

that will function as ONE this school

year. As a class we discussed our

expectations for each other as friends,

our expectations for our teacher,

our expectations as a committed

student, and our expectations as

a class family. We review when

faced with conflict how to problem

solve and restore what has been

broken. We plan on using our "I Statement"-

"I feel..., When you..., I want...."

Ringing the Bell 12-14-13

We read an article about caring for the less fortunate. We defined less fortunate. We asked, What can we do? We brainstormed how to help the less. We voted and decided to RIng the Bell for our community. We raise the most money in our community! We made a difference.
