They have a delicious dinner with plenty of desserts. This day is usually very exciting. Children go to sleep anxiously because Santa Claus (also known as Papá Noel) will deliver their gifts the next morning.

While Christmas Eve is celebrated with Family, New Year is celebrated with friends. After dinner and taking to their friends, they get prepared for what is about to happen. When there is 12 seconds on the clock before it is about to strike midnight Spaniards eat 12 lucky grapes so that luck will be on their side of the whole year to come.

This parade includes musicians, artists, people in costumes, and most importantly Tres Reyes Magos (the three kings). After the parade the families return home for an early dinner. So that they can clean their shoes and leave them in the living room. They  run to their shoes and enjoy their gifts. The only bad thing about January 6th is that children are reminded that they will have to return to school soon.
