I am a little concerned about finding a balance of keeping middle level students interested in the interactive technology. Having it interesting enough to keep their attention, but not too childish to where they don't take the material seriously. How can I ensure I have that balance for middle level students?

Hey! I think one of the best ways to keep a students attention is to not become stagnate during the lesson. Keep things changed up (i.e, Short lecture, PowerPoint, worksheets, class discussion, technology, extra.) use multiple media for each lesion. This gives the kids a brain break when switching from one thing to the next but its also allows them to refocuse themselves into what they are doing.

I understand your concern. You can find something in the middle. Certain interactive technology may be too 'boring' for students, but others such as the Glide app, Padlet, or Podcasts may be interesting for middle level students.
