The word "learning" is not new to everyone -- but as we get older, we gradually understand the importance of learning. There is an old saying in China: "It is never too old to learn"! The ancients all said this, which shows how much they valued learning. It is through many years of accumulation that the ancients taught us the importance of knowledge with their own experience. China is an ancient civilization, propriety, and knowledge is a symbol of civilization. Today's society is a complex one, where there are people behind people and mountains behind mountains. You are better than me, and he is better than you. It can be said that there is a strong hand in a strong one

This is PENG! In my opinion, this is a metaphor about academic writing. First of all, we need to collect necessary information when writing articles, and lemon represents these materials. To be more specific, lemon can be understood as the views of other scholars. When we quote these ideas, we need to process the information, which is the origin of juice in metaphor. As for the pearl necklace, it actually refers to the process of finishing our own articles. A complete academic article should have a rigorous logical relationship, and with the help of this logical structure, we should connect the processed information (pearls). I sincerely hope that our academic articles are as pure and beautiful as pearl necklaces.

This is Vicky! I think the metaphor of lemons is the work that we need to prepare before we write academic writing, such as collecting the literature, putting together the data, laying out the framework. The metaphor of fruit juice is that we compressed the collected data and quoted the essence in our academic articles. The pearl is a metaphor and we arrange each complete part in a logical order to make the academic text look more orderly.

This is khalil. I think in learning, lemons represent all the preparation that you go into learning, and lemon juice represents the essence that you get after learning. Only by doing well the preparation before learning, can we obtain the most complete and comprehensive knowledge. I think the necklace represents a bad behavior, plagiarism. Pearls represent other people's ideas and ideas, which are stolen one by one and strung together into necklaces that often break when pulled. Just like what is copied is never yours.

It was a collaboration between Emilia, Mia and Franco.Emilia：I think these three things are metaphors for the process of our academic writing. The lemon metaphor is a tool in academic writing. More specifically, the literature and sources that we are going to collect. And we need to use this material and information to better help us write.Franco： Juice represents good something picked up from the materials from our studies, and then removing the dross from those good materials ans keep the most precious things or essence，in order to learn better in future study life.Mia：In my opinion, pearls represent that before finishing the writing, the author needs to collect many different arguments and views, and then summarize these views and quote them into his own article, just like wearing pearls into a necklace.

I think the metaphor of writing a paper to lemons and juice is brilliant. When we start to write a paper or do research, we must first refer to the previous works and get inspiration from other people's ideas to carry out our own work. It is just like squeezing juice. We can not take it away completely, but we can extract useful ideas from it for demonstration. As for the metaphor of the pearl necklace, I think there are bound to be different opinions from different people in an essay, and the point of the article is to connect these ideas together like a necklace so that the reader can understand them easily.（Erro）

Lemons refer to the academic work of other scholars. Lemonade is our own opinion. The pearl refers to the academic work of other scholars. When we do academic writing, we shouldn't just string together other people's ideas and conclusions like we do a string of pearls. We need to constantly squeeze the lemon, which means constantly evaluating and interpreting the documents we read, finding evidence to support and arrive at our own opinions.
Just like making tea, tea and water are seemingly unrelated and monotonous in isolation. However, through heating and precipitation of time, the two merge into each other to get a cup of tea full of aroma. The same is true for academic writing. After reading a large number of scholars' literature, we need to sort out the opinions of others, and then try to prove and reflect our own opinions through our cognition in two seemingly unrelated concepts through our creativity and expression ability.

For example, if you want to put together a basketball team, first you have to find a good group of players.
But it's not enough to have players, you have to find a good manager.
Then the coach finds the best in each player and plays them in the right position to build the perfect team.

About the metaphors
Tess [Gretna Green]

In my opinion, both "Lemon & Juice" and " Pearls & Necklace" are the process of academic writing. We have to to process the lemons to get the juice as we stand on the predecessors's shoulder doing the academic research further. As the pearls, I don't think it is great if we just string them together. Just like we're scraping together the work of other people. But if we think of the pearls as the key words or key points. We have to find the way to link them up through your own imagine.

One of the metaphor I like most is to think of the learning process as rowing a boat in a river in reverse. As long as you don't move forward proactively, you will retreat.

The lemon represents a student who does not fully understand the knowledge he/she has received. Only by fully digesting and absorbing the knowledge, or even integrating it with others, can it become a refreshing and tempting lemon juice giving rich vitamins, otherwise it is a sour lemon that is hard to swallow.

The pearls represent the ideas presented by others.Without rich academic literacy, we could only make a nice but useless pearl necklace, repeating others’ ideas.

To sum up, lemon and pearl necklaces refer to the repetition of others' ideas in articles without new views and insights of our own. Therefore, we should strive to become juicers and grinders to make lemons and pearls really beneficial to ourselves.

I think the lemons in this picture refers to the process of academic writing and the juice illustrates the important information that abstract from the lemon for example, we can not get the juice of whole lemon in this shape but we need to cut the lemon into two halves, and the pearls in the other picture it is refers to the complete idea that are consistent and interconnected with each other.

Learning is like a journey, sometimes there is a destination, such as going to a scenic spot, with expectation in the heart; sometimes there is a casual walk, just to broaden my horizon. In anticipation and not harvest growth, enrich the heart, has been on the road. is like climbing a mountain, there are many ways to the top of the road, there are flat roads, slopes, cliffs... But no matter which road, stick to it, must reach the top of the mountain, see the most beautiful scenery
