  • £15 million for a new programme to connect communities as the funder seeks to tackle some of the big social issues facing UK communities today.
  • £9 million boost for climate action, one of the funder’s four key missions, bringing total investment this year to £35 million.

The Awards are made up of 4 categories:
The Landscape Award, sponsored by Hastoe Housing, is for any initiative, large or small, that utilises or protects countryside features whilst enhancing our green spaces. Examples could include repurposing derelict land, community gardens or managing public spaces for biodiversity.
The Sustainable Communities Award, sponsored by Newbury Building Society, is for any development, scheme or project that actively works to implement a sustainable approach. Examples could include projects such as development of buildings, infrastructure, facilities or landscape in rural or urban areas.
The Grassroots Award is for anyone acting on a countryside issue that is relevant to their immediate or local area. For example, this could include conservation projects, work on recycling or anti-litter initiatives. 
The Environmental Education Award is for projects, schemes or initiatives that connect people to the countryside through teaching and learning. This could include projects such as work with schools or young people, educational initiatives, career incentive schemes or new research.

Action Hampshire would like to offer the wider local VCSE sector the opportunity of hearing from public sector colleagues, as well as having the chance to ask questions and network with them. Many VCSE organisations have been, or are currently, reliant on public sector funding, but it is important that the sector is not just seen as a recipient of funding but that it has the knowledge and experience to actively collaborate in the design and ommissioning of services. This is your chance to ensure your voice is heard!
