A 38-year old man in Florida died from a faulty vape pen. When using the e-cigarette, the battery exploded and shot into his head, also causing his house to catch on fire. H

An 18 year old hostess from Pennsylvania decided to try vaping for the first time. Three weeks later, she was in the hospital getting heavily treated with methylprednisolone, a drug used to treat severe allergic reactions. She happened to develop hypersensitivity pneumonitis, often called “wet lung” and eventually went into respiratory failure. She was thankfully treated before it was too late  R

Wet Lung- an allergic reaction caused by a chemical or dust, this can cause severe respiratory failure. H

Pneumonia- The action of sharing vapes can cause this illness. It is not uncommon for people to share vapes and pass along this illness, which can be very severe. R

Arterial damage-  Vaping can cause damage to the arteries which is often irreversible and can lead to heart failure and even death. Cytology- When vaping, this can cause serious damage to the cells which could eventually cause cancer. Cancer occurs when the cells become too damaged. E

Taxonomy- The diseases from the vapes are caused by bacteria and viruses. By understanding Taxonomy we can see how these dangerous diseases and chemicals are effecting the body.
