The Battle of Tippecanoe was caused because the British encouraged Native Americas Nations to attack American settlers around the Great Lakes areas. And as a result, the Shawnee Nation and the US Army fought this battle in 1811. This event is significant because of Native resistance and encouragement by the British to continue those ideas, America and Britain went to war in 1812.

The Burning of Washington D.C

On August 24th, 1814, the British won the Battle of Bladensburg and took control of Washington, D.C. There, the British troops then burned down the Capitol and the White House in retaliation for American forces looting and burning York, Canada in 1813. This is significant to the war of 1812 because it symbolized an attack on the heart of America, trying to humiliate America as an extremely young and new nation. But instead encouraged the nation to resist the British invasion further.

The morning after there was a huge American flag held that represented perseverance of the Nation. This was impactful to the battle of 1812 because it encouraged American Patriotism.

The Treaty of Ghent was a peace agreement signed on December 24, 1814, that ended the War of 1812 between the United States and Great Britain.
