         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Seneca Falls Convention was the first women's rights convention. It advertised itself as "a convention to discuss the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of woman". Held in the Wesleyan Chapel of the town of Seneca Falls, New York, it spanned two days over July 19–20, 1848.&nbsp;<br><br>It was groundbreaking that women were able to hold this event. Allowed women to discuss educational opportunities, divorce reform, property rights, and more.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. The 19th amendment legally guarantees American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle—victory took decades of agitation and protest.<br><br>This gave women the right to vote, being a big win for women's equality in America. Women protested for years to even have the right to vote, so having this was and still is a big deal.</div>]]></description>

Wade, 410 U.S. 113, was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States generally protected a right to have an abortion.<br><br>Abortions came to an increase after Roe v. Wade was passed. It allowed women to get legal and safe abortions, meaning they wouldn't have to risk their lives to get rid of a fetus unsafely.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Equal Pay Act of 1963 is a United States labor law amending the Fair Labor Standards Act, aimed at abolishing wage disparity based on sex. It was signed into law on June 10, 1963, by John F. Kennedy as part of his New Frontier Program.<br><br>This allows for everyone to be equal in payment, meaning employers cannot discriminate and pay less based on gender.  </div>]]></description>

Provisions of this civil rights act forbade discrimination on the basis of sex, as well as, race in hiring, promoting, and firing.<br><br>People cannot discriminate when employing based on gender, race, or anything else in relation to their identity. </div>]]></description>
