by Ms. Trenkle

Did you know that the National Zoo's birdhouse has a kiwi (the famous birds from New Zealand???). They are very elusive and endangered birds. One was born at the National Zoo in 2008. I chose this as my object because I LOVE kiwis and met Kathy the Kiwi Keeper at the National Zoo after returning from New Zealand and planning a field trip to see the kiwi at the zoo with my students. It also reminds me how you can learn such cool things from exploring our world.

by Ms. Trenkle

There are not descriptors for this object other than its dimensions and that it was acquired by the Smithsonian (NMAH) in 1986. I chose this because I am a teacher, BUT...in third grade we were tasked with making buttons for our family/friends and I remember drawing my button and having it made into a physical button---I'm sure this was the same process.

Wolves are my favorite animals apart from hawks. I know that wolves aren't objects but they're really cool.

My dance studio does not allow pink leotards, so I wear a black and navy blue one.

I chose this because I love theatre and Newsies is my favorite musical. There are also several tap numbers in the musical, and I take tap. If you haven't, you should watch Newsies.

That is because it is the biggest football stadium, it has 109,901 seats and it mostly still sells out. Every game has had over 100,000 people since 1975 (300+games). I have been to this stadium only twice, but I have been to playoff games (one in California and one in Arizona) and other games. Also, both of my parents went to Michigan.

I have always wanted one. I chose this because my family friend had one that I met when I was younger and I still remember it because it was a special memory. Since then I have loved them.

I'd like to say I'm pretty good at figure skating and I love skating in the winter. Everyone come to Deal Ice Skating Night!!!
