It´s also more easy to switch what is shown and in the most cases the quality of what is shown is better when you use a beamer. It is easy to follow and  easy to present. Also a Powerpoint can give nearly any qualtity of pictures, aslo there is a unique diversity, only possible with digital media. An Overhead projector is a pretty cool thing, for the historical museum. There are also a lot of other possible visual aids, posters are a classic but aren´t realy up-to-date and proffesional. You can design them the way you want and they are easy to use! I like to write a bit information in my presentation aswell to keep the attention of the spectators. Posters are alright aswell, but then you have to be really careful. It is much simpler and easier to create such a presentation and has many advantages like better time management. You also have more possibilities to design them. In our classes, I sometimes miss animations, but I think that's not so bad. I also think PowerPoint and GoogleSlides are doing the best job. they are simple, but still you create something pleasing for the eye. For me personally I have to say that I go overboard with text and forget about the images. I should visualize my presentations more and better.
