THE TWO SEPARATE POSTS involve 2 TASKS  for you to answer on the Padlet (5 marks each) TOTAL{10 marks} : 
You may choose to write on a  Word Document and then paste.   Please clearly Label each task!         TASK 1 'REVELATION' is due by August 16th and TASK 2 Dear Lottie is due by September 11th. 1. Why might an understanding of Revelation and images of God be important for students in a Catholic school? 
2. Why might an understanding of Revelation and images of God be important for teachers in a Catholic school, particularly those who will teach 
Religious Education? 
3. As a future teacher of Religious Education in a Catholic school what is one image of God that you could present to the students in your class. After listening this week's audio and doing the two readings also post an image of God that would be suitable to present to students in a class you might teach. List the selected year level above/below your image or text.

Using the two readings (Bishops' Mandate and RE Policy) and other knowledge from this unit create a response to Lottie's email below

  Dear Friend, 
I have a job interview for a Catholic school and I know they will ask me questions about RE. I know you have been doing an RE unit at uni so I would like some help with these questions so I will look good at the interview: 
 a) Will I only have to teach RE for about 30 mins per week? 
 b) In the 30 mins I think I will just show the kids some 'God' videos - after all they will be  Gen Alpha & Gen Z and like technology - will this be OK? 
 c) I'm guessing I won't have to assess and report because you can't do that in RE anyway, right? 
 d) I don't pray myself or go to church do you think this will matter? 
 e) What would be your no. 1 tip that I should say to the interview panel about RE that would make a really good impression?

Understanding this helps the students comprehend that God is always trying to reveal himself to us through out our day to day lives. God wants us to become in nature with him and emulate his values and the sense of Christianity to how we should live our lives. This helps us to become better people and become closer with God. One of the fundamentals of the Religious Education program is to "put people not only in touch, but also in communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ" (GDC90). I feel this is particularly important as it gives students an example/image of God in "human form". It lay a basis not only for an image of God but also the nature to which he wants us to live our lives. With this understanding, teachers have the knowledge of the various ways God is revealed to us and what it is he is trying to reveal. This is beneficial to help students' understanding of God and become closer to God. These examples of Revelation come from various varieties, through scripture, through experiences, through community and many more, so with a teachers understanding of how God reveals himself to us they can use this to help students identify the ways in which God is revealing himself to them.                                                                                                                                   Images of God are unique to each individual. Although, there are numerous images that help us create our own depiction of God. Teachers of Religious Education need to share how images of God can change and that it is ok for the students' own image of God vary over time. In years 7-10, the minimum requirement is 160 minutes per week, for years 11-12 the minimum requirement is 220 minutes per week.                                                                                                                                                   B) This will not be ok Lottie, Gen A and Gen Z want to engage with content that's important to them and they can relate to with their lives. The Come Follow Me teacher resource provides you with all the content-related information that will be covered over the first two terms for year 8. I have attached a copy for you.                                                                            C) Incorrect, there are assessment and reporting in Religious Education. What won't be assessed is the student's faith.  D)  Yes, it's important for you to be involved in the communities including the Catholic church. Also, as a teacher of Religious Education, you are responsible for expressing the divine power of the message.                                                       E) My number 1 tip would be to go inform yourself and understand the Mandate and policies associated with Catholic Education.
