Tigris river and the Taurus mountains. The Taurus mountains helped Mesopotamia settle because they were used as barriers, No one would want to climb all the way up the mountains just to get to Mesopotamia. The Tigris river helped Mesopotamia settle because it was a major water source. The Tigris river was used as a water source for human and animal.

Exemplary:

The geography helped Mesopotamia thrive because they were confident the land forms/geography would help them settle.

The government was important because they made rules. The Hammurabi's code of laws tells me that Mesopotamia is fair and good to people. Hammurabi's code of laws was important to Mesopotamia because without them it would be a free for all and people would do whatever they want without consequences. The laws are important today because people would be stealing, speeding, and etc. It would not be safe here. The reason why we have laws is to keep america safe.

Exemplary: The Code of laws helped Mesopotamia thrive and survive because they were created to make people safe and that what it did.

Class Divisions

Some of the class divisions in Mesopotamia were the upper class (King, Priest.) Another class division Mesopotamia had were the middle class (Scribes, Merchants and Artisans, and commoners.) The last class division Mesopotamia had was the lower class (Slaves.) In the upper class a possible job was a priest. A priest was in the upper class because the worshiped the gods and in Mesopotamia that was important. The education that was needed to be a priest was the literacy education. The reason why priest needed the literacy education is they worshiped the gods. One of the middle class jobs were scribes. Scribes were very important because they learned how to communicate using writing and take down note such as taxes using writing. The education a scribes were educated by the priests and king. A job in the lower class was a slave. A slave worked for there owner for three years and then they were freed. A slave had to do work such as in the corn field and around the house. A slave was often taken from war or because they didn't pay their taxes. A slave does not need education to be a slave.

Exemplary: The benefit of living in the upper class is people looked at you like you were the boss/head of Mesopotamia. The Drawback of living in the upper class is you had a lot on you shoulders and people counted on you. The benefit for living in the middle class is you are just living a normal life with an important job. The drawback of living in the middle class is you had one of the hardest jobs in Mesopotamia. The benefit of living in the lower class is you only have to do what you do for three years. The drawback of living in the lower class is people are always demanding and telling you what to do.
