How does this take us away from a compliance approach by students to a learning approach by students?

How does implementing a flawed system to replace another flawed system improve learning and student performance?

Can we work out the kinks with system before we implement?

Are we recognizing the point that not all kids are going to college? What are the plans for students who want to go forward in more of a technical field?

Many students that are coming to the high school are lacking life skills: reading comp, advocating for themselves, deadlines, procedural/professionalism etc- how do we alleviate this issue. Should seniors be allowed the same leeway as a freshmen.

This philosophy feels like its the moral high ground- and if you arent chasing around all of your students you are not a good teacher- what are we doing to make sure teachers feel supported and do not burnout?

Grading should be about clarity and learning- and a 100pt assignment can be ambiguous, why cant we start with rubrics and documented standards before redoing the whole grading system.

Between a 1 and 2, is a small area but between a 2, 3- you are meeting the expectation of the teacher and those expectations change so much between those differences...

Can you gentlemen speak to the compatibility of Standards Based Grading and PCBL? They seem to be at odds...

Also, I am still unclear as to the how and the why of this grading system. If the roll out at Ecker and Treasure has been problematic, why are we pushing a system that has not been properly vetted either by literature or within our own district?
