- For future attempts, a longer time of 20 - 30 minutes is a recommended start time for development.
- Another problem could have been the solution mix. Granted that this probably didn't cause too much trouble in the end, there was a loss of both solution A and B when they were being mixed together. Causing an actual reaction as the liquids were mixed in too fast.

- The cheaper the coffee the better this whole process will work. Expensive coffee doesn't make the results any better so there is no point in spending too much money.
- Also decaf coffee cannot be used.

Prepare two solutions, labelled A and B.
2. Solution A - mix 54g of washing soda with 300ml of water in a beaker.
3. Solution B - mix 16g of ascorbic acid and 40g coffee (10g salt or 1g potassium bromide are optional) with 700ml water.
4. These measurements make a total of 1 liter of developer but 300 - 350 ml will be enough for one roll of film.
5. Combine solutions A and B, stir until the crystals have completely dissolved.
The film should be spun onto the spool and put into the tank in the dark as per usual
6. Pour the caffenol mix into the tank and develop for 15 minutes, agitating three times per minute.
7. Rinse the film with water and fix as normal.
