-If stopped, collect information on the situation including photography if allowed. You can use this to file a civil complaint. Make sure your hands are visible and you stay calm, not letting them do anything without a warrant. They need a warrant to search you or any photographs taken of the scene. Bring up your first amendment right and ask if you are free to leave. Don’t say or sign anything without a lawyer.

In certain states, you must provide your name to law enforcement if you are stopped. But even if you give your name, you don’t have to answer other questions.
