The Wind and the Sun argued one day over which one was stronger. When they saw a man traveling on the road, they decided to have a contest to see which one of them could remove the coat from the man.

The Wind tried first and began to blow. He blew so hard

that the man could barely walk. But the man closed his

coat around him tightly.

to his coat. Finally the Wind gave up and he could not

remove the coat from the man.

Now it was the Sun's turn. Compared to the fierce way

the wind took, the Sun gently sent his warm sunlight

upon the traveler. It became hotter and hotter so that

the traveler took off his coat and rested under the

shade of the tree. The Sun won the contest in the end
