Groundwater pollution and water pollution in general may be one of the reasons for water scarcity as the water becomes contaminated and unfit for use. Moreover , the turnover time for different water resources vary; at present we may be consuming at a faster rate than at which they can be replenished. Agriculture also uses extremely large amounts of water, as a result the resources are depleted.
