A coach must analyze a player or players stats and tendencies to know who they should draft, promote to the starting line up and etc... If the coach does not have the ability or knowledge to measure ones central tendency their job to analyze stats and tendencies will be extremely hard. A scout requires similar attributes as a coach but will not need to deal with making changes to the team. The scout mainly looks at rising prospects that fit the needs of the potential team. If the scout does not have the attribute of measuring's ones central tendencies he or she will make a lot of mistakes and pass on a lot of good players with great potential.

I think these professions exemplify measuring ones central tendencies the best because as a coach or scout for a athletic team you are required to make important decisions by being observant, organized, and be able to pay attention to detail.

A good example from two great NBA players are LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Curry's stats per game in the 2017 - 18 NBA season are 32.6 minutes per game, shooting 47.3% from inside the 3 point line , 38% from the 3pt line, and 93.3% from the free throw line. LeBron's stats per game in the 2017 - 18 NBA season are 37 minutes per game, shooting 58.4% from inside the 3 point line, 41.6% from the 3pt line, and 77.3% from the free throw line. Focusing on both players percentages from inside the 3 point line and outside the 3 point line, a scout or coach would see that LeBron is shooting a higher percentage then curry from the field and 3pt line, but we do not know how many attempts these two players take of each shot per game. LeBron attempts 18.7 shots from inside the 3 point line per game and 4.7, 3 point shots per game. Curry attempts 17.7 shots from inside the 3 point line per game and 9.5 3 point shots per game. By analyzing this data a coach or scout can see that LeBron clearly wins the battle in shots inside the 3 point line because he averages more attempts per game and shoots a high percentage, but curry shows why his 3 point percentage is lower the LeBron's because he takes 4.8 more 3 point shots then LeBron per game.

In conclusion If you believe you have the attribute of measuring ones central tendencies put your self in a scouters or coaches shoes and analyze these stats of LeBron and Curry and see who you would choose.
