Authentic instruction, the constructivist perspective, is defined as, “a pedagogical approach that allows students to explore, discuss, and meaningfully construct concepts and relationships in contexts that involve real-world problems and projects that are relevant to the learner.” (Mims, 2003.) This instruction is important for students because it helps them make easier connections about the topics to situations that are current in their lives. If students are able to make easier connections, they will tend to be more motivated because of the purpose they see in actual learning. It means something to them.
