Passing the Threshold

The very first day of I high school I stood outside of the school's gate scared to enter. I looked at all the older kids passing the gate with ease. I refused to enter. I was worried about what would happened when I crossed the gate. Then I saw all my friends walking by they asked me to walk with them. I accepted the offer. With that I had the courage to cross the threshold.

This is an example of crossing the threshold because it shows how I accepted my quest and I entered the unknown world through the threshold just like how Harry did in Harry Potter. Harry had to go through nine and three quarters to enter the unknown world just like how i had to pass the gates to enter high school.

Challenges

As high schooled continued the work load became heavier. We had at least 2-3 hours of homework a night even more if we had a project to complete. Just that was enough stress but then add sports. I was gonna lose my mind. This was one of the biggest challenges in first semester. Learning how to mange my time between school and sports

Managing my time between sports and school is an example of a challenge because its something i'm not use too. I mean i played sports in middle school but I never had this much work. It is pushing me out of my comfort zone and made me think.

Abyss

It was the day after talking a big test in math. The whole class was anxiously waiting to get them back. When she passed mine back i saw i got a d. My heart shattered into a million pieces. I was very disappointed in myself. It made me step back and look at what my goals and how I was gonna accomplish them.

This scenario is an example of an abyss because it was self realization. I experienced something that was tragic and gained experience from and used it to my advantage. In this case it was getting a bad test grade.

The Godess Gift

It was the middle of winter my dad walks in with the mail. I go through it to see if there was anything for me. low and behold there it was my report card in between some bills. I opened it up and i had seen that i only got one b. i was jumping for joy all of my stresse was relased.

Reciving my report card was a gift from the goddess because it was what i got after i finished my first quest. The gift was a sign of all my hard work and dedication paid off.

Katniss passed the threshold in the hunger games when she took the train into the capital. She entered a world that she wasn't familiar with. This new world was gonna test her capability to cope with new places and people.

In the hunger games Katniss faces many challenges. The biggest one being the other tributes. Each of the other tributes have an advantages over her in the arena. She has to learn how to use her strengths in order to win.

Katniss experiences an abyss when Rue dies. She is reminded of what she is the arena to do and how she got there. This moment is the most memorable moment in her adventure. From this she gains the courage in order to keep fighting and eventually win the hunger games .

The gift of the goddess for Katniss was winning the hunger games and getting to see her family. This gift shows that all her hard work dedication payed off. This is also a sign that she completed one of many adventures she will go on
