A bystander is someone who watches bullying happen, but doesn't do anything about it. They don't tell anyone or stand up for the victim.  Being a bystander isn't always the best thing, you should try to stand up for you friends or to them telling the bully it's not ok and that they should stop. A bully is someone who picks on a person. Bullying can happen for many different reasons and in many different forms. Someone can bully a person if they are jealous or envy them in any kind of way. They also bully someone weaker and less confident than them. Bullying can come in many different forms, online and in person. When someone bullies a person online is usually verbal, saying someone is ugly or fat for an example. Bullying in person can be verbal or physical. Verbal bulling in person is like online bullying just face to face. But there is also physical bullying, this can really only happen in person. to understand why bullying happens we first need to know what types of bullying there are. there are three main ones :
  • Physical bullying, when another student uses physical force to hurt their victim for many reasons, taking a student’s belongings, stealing their money or just for the satisfaction of seeing the victim being hurt.
  • Verbal bullying, when a student uses words  to humiliate another student or when the bully isolates another student from their peer group through leaving them out, gossiping, spreading rumors and scapegoating.
  • Cyberbullying, when a student uses a cell phone, text messages, e-mails, instant messaging, chats and social media to bully another student in any of the ways described above.  It includes breaking into a student’s electronic account and assuming that student’s identity in order to damage their reputation

Bullying happens for many reasons, it may be because the bully got bullied at their previous school and doesn't want it to happen again so they become the bully or because they did something bad out of peer pressure or just out of jealousy. But there's no reason at all or excuse to cause someone pain or any kind of harm.

There are many consequences of bullying. Some of the major ones for the bullied are : Suicide, Depression, And Low self-esteem. Some of the consequences for the bully are : Criminal offences/ charges for crime, reputation for being a bully, and being expelled from many schools.
