Interesting set up to simplify the idea for younger readers. However, I'm hoping more attention will be paid to this idea of "introvertedness" as a spectrum. After taking the quiz I'm, rather unsurprisingly, an introvert.

I can see where some aspects of school are geared toward extroverts, but I also think a large number of tasks play to the strength of introverts. For instance, most major assessments are completed individually, silently, and with an extended amount of time. Someone who is an extrovert might say that these don't play to their strengths as "people people".

I'm happy to see that I do a number of these things as a teacher, think pair sharing, flexible group projects, approaching students with specific plans for how to contribute to graded discussions.

I am definitely a teacher who has students work in pairs regularly. I choose pairs rather than clusters though so that less students hide behind their group. I do often, informally, pair introverts and extroverts so that there is a mix and the two styles of students can help each other with tasks the other may struggle with.

Chapter 4, Quiet Leaders

Quiet leaders are definitely an interesting idea. I'd like to find an excerpt of this that I could utilize with my students as an Article of the Week assignment that we do. It would spark some discussion I'm sure as some would avidly argue that a leader must be able to stand up and speak their mind at a moment's notice. I do also need to remind valued students in my classroom that every time they lead by offering a thoughtful response to a question they are leading by example etc.
