The first known Károlyi residence dating back to the late fifteenth century. It must have been a solid building, equipped with fortification elements if the county nobles considered it a threat and demanded its demolition king. At the end of the next century because of the rise of the Turkish danger, stone residence was converted into a fortress complete with wall fortification ditch and quadrilateral and four corner bastions provided with niches firing cannon. Due to its strategic position and solid form in the eighteenth century fortress which was part of the fortification system against the Turks. To successfully deal with a possible attack, city fortifications are widened between 1661 and 1666 and after recovery here is assigned a German garrison, backed by artillery own. Subsequent Turkish attacks failed to destroy the city, but had caused serious damage repaired by work in 1678.

After Alexander Károlyi joined the uprising led by Francis Rákóczi II, it was among the German troops to attack the city which had become the enemy. Fortifications resist this time, but requires new restoration works were finished in 1708. In the same year, Francis Rákóczi II spending nearly a month in the city of Carei visit is stored as a memorable moment in the history of Károlyi. The room where he lived the famous leader remained the requirement proprietary family, a milestone in the transformation of the castle Subsequent not being reached until the early twentieth century.

In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the city of which was several times venue of important diplomatic meetings. Among other things, there have been negotiations for the drafting and signing of the Peace Treaty Satu Mare in 1711.

During this time and until 1848, the city and later Károlyi Castle is defended by a garrison composed of outlaws place in the city from neighboring villages. The standing guard in compenţă 77 horsemen and 30 foot soldiers, mostly Romanian. In exchange for economic benefits received from the landowner, they had to acquire uniforms and weapons properly, ensure security, order and defend the castle and the city.

With the settlement of military conflicts in the area, are born first plans for transforming the city from entering a building with residential special functions. Károlyi Antal is the originator of these ideas, but the actual conversion work starts only in 1792. The main elements of fortification bastions are demolished, and the city is transformed into a baroque castle, made plans by Jozef Bitthauser. After a description of the weather, the castle covered with shingles behind a rectangular plan, with two floors and the main entrance was located on the north side. The upper floor rooms benefit from 21, and the lower 20 vaulted spaces provided. The castle chapel was annexed south-eastern side and the kitchen and annexes were built in continuation of the southern side of the main building.

Some of the most important moments in the history baroque castle visits constitute them members of the imperial family. Thus, in 1797, Joseph Károlyi got to visit Prince Jozef residence of Habsburg, and almost a century later, in 1884, Prince Rudolf of Hapsburg two-day spend in the company of his wife.

A new transformation of the castle, which gives the current layout of the building takes place between 1894-1896 and is initiated by Stephen Karolyi. Following architect Arthur Meinig, Baroque castle is transformed into a building in eclectic style with elements istorizante, resembling a medieval castle chivalry. Baroque castle wall structure is preserved almost completely, but was added several towers of different shapes and sizes that give the building an asymmetrical look. Emphasizing impression is performed using medieval moat built all around the castle. The main entrance was transferred on the west side of the castle to the town. Baroque castle courtyard was covered with a massive ceiling beams, painted and thus transformed into a huge reception hall. Castle on three facades and architectural elements are combined from many decor styles - romantic, baroque - and the eastern façade is dominated by the Gothic style.

Inside the castle was dominated by reception hall, paved with mosaic and equipped with huge fireplaces. Secondary room located at the entrance to the south, the castle serve as dining and everything here was accessible family chapel, located throughout the pater. The remaining rooms on this level were occupied by ministers or constituted storage. On the first floor, south wing was reserved for apartments Károlyi, and most of the rest rooms functioned as apartments for guests.

Károlyi after Stephen's death in 1907, family members no longer live in Carei. In the chaos created by the events of the end of year 1918 many of the furniture and valuables inside the castle disappeared. Interwar period as a result of an agreement between the Romanian state and the Hungarian valuables left in the castle (especially paintings) were returned Károlyi.

Remains a memorable moment in the life of the castle and Careiului contemporary period, the visit of King Ferdinand I of Romania and Queen Mary in 1919.

In the interwar period part of the castle is transformed into a sanatorium and rest houses a casino. During the Second World War, with the agreement Károlyis works here a military school, converted into a military hospital in 1944. During the communist era, the castle hosts cultural institutions of public interest: museum, community center and town library. Today, the castle houses a museum exhibition of historic interiors that reproduce the ambience of the former castle and an exhibition of local history.

My favourite place to visit and spend some days...or the whole of your summer holidays is the island of Samothrace. This island, in NorthEast Greece, is famous because of the statue which is in Paris. But...apart from this the island has many other places to visit such as Vathres, big lakes with cold crystal water.

I like many places on the world, but my very favourite place is in the mountain. In Hintertux, there is an iceberg and ski areal. I go there with my ski team every winter. We are there training only once or twice in a year. It is the paradise for skiers and cross-country skiers. There is the beautiful nature and mostly much snow. I love it there!

Side is reached by turning south 3 km. before Manavgat on the Antalya-Alanya highway . One of its most important buildings is its 15,000 spectator theater. The difference between this Roman theater and other antique theaters in the region is that it is not built against a hillside. The 2 storey theater, built on a series of arches, is 20 m. high. The orchestra and the stage are in a state of ruin. Rainwater canals run under the theater. Side has colonnaded streets, a triumphal arch, a harbor, baths, fountains, cisterns, aquaducts, temples and an agora .

I was herelast July.The three islands that form a mini-archipelago off Trapani,(western part of Sicily) are called Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo. Favignana is often referred to as La Farfalla on account of its shape which has been likened to a butterfly a-flutter over the blue sea. There are two main beaches: a small sandy bay south of the town in Cala Azzurra, and, still in the southern part but a little west of this, lies the broad beach called the Lido Burrone. The rocky bays are more exciting and thrilling, notably Cala Rossa and Cala del Bue Marino nearby.The bike tour is fabulous. �
