         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>What is leather used for?</strong></p><p>Leather is used to make many items such as shoes, bags, clothes, furniture, and many more. Back when leather was founded it was used for shelters, shoes, clothes and weapons.</p><p><br/></p><p>France was chosen because around 130 luxury brands are orginated from france, because of this they need alot of leather to make their products. France is affected by this through it's economic contribution, and enviromental impacts. France is an important player in the leather industry mostly because in the production of calf leather and exotic skins. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Where do people make Leather?</strong></p><p>Leather is manufactured almost all around the world. 24 billion square feet of leather are made in the span of a year. The top 3 leather producing countries are China, Italy, and Brazil. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What is the process of manufacturing leather?</strong></p><p>Leather is manufactured through a process containing several steps. These steps include, Presevation and preparing which is often slaughtering and preserving the skin. The second step is Tanning, tanning is the core process that converts the animal hides into leather by using tanning chemicals. The third step is Post Tanning which includes 3 stages; retanning, dyeing, and oiling. The last step is Finishing which includes miling, finishing, drying and staking. </p><p><br/></p><p>China was chosen beacuse on average China produces around 7.75 billion square feet of leather in a year which plays a big role in the average amount in the world. China as a country is affected in a both posotive and negative way. The posotive is economic opportunities, since china exports alot of leather they recieve around 107.55 billion worth of leather products. The negative impact is enviromental challenges, this includes pollution, deforestation, cancer, sustainability and more. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>What resources are needed to make leather?</strong></p><p>There are five main resouces that are needed to make leather which include; animal skin (animal hides), tanning chemicals, water, energy and labour.  </p><p><br/></p><p>India was chosen because around 308 million cattle are in India and around 40 percent are used for Leather producing which plays a huge role in Leather manufacturing in the world. Leather producing affects India, in 2 ways. Firstly it makes new jobs and gives an employment  to people who don't have a job. Secondly it affects India in a enviromental way such as it increases pollution, water consumption and deforestation. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Why do designer brands use leather often?</p><p>Leather is associated with luxury because of it's complex and labour intensive processes in it's manufacturing. It's known for it's durability and strength. Luxury brands such as Hermes use leather because of it's elegance, durability, versatility, exclusivity and texture. </p><p><br/></p><p>Grands Boulevards, Paris, France is chosen because that's where the luxury brand Hermes is orginated from. Paris is affected by it's economic contribution and enviromental impacts.  </p>]]></description>

The posotive impacts are the large industry, employment, trade, value chain, and luxury market.
