- After the american revolution brought tens of thousands of loyalists

-The first nations made alliances with both Britain and French  during the 7 year war to get as many gifts as possible

-The loyalists started to move onto first nations without permission

-8000 loyalist landed on the st lawrence shores of quebec

- in 1764 Samuel holland island began mapping out/ exploring ile saint jean which is now prince edward island 

- The land contained land from the acadian expulsion

- Shelburne, Nova Scotia, was a small place settlement isolated from other parts of Nova Scotia. It was a very quiet place with a small population. Everything changed when masses of Loyalist refugees began arriving on Shelburne’s shores.

- After the settlers from britain arrived shelburne, nova scotia gained 10,000 pedestrians

- It soon became the largest british colony and the fourth largest city in north america behind New york, Philadelphia and boston.
