Limited animation is the process of making an animated cartoon which doesn't use the full frames only parts between them. it uses special techniques which limits the effort which is used to produce the full animation. in 1942 The Dover boys was one of the first cartoons which were created by Warner bros that were the first to use limited animation.
Examples
Oscar winning short Gerald MC boing- boing
Chuck Jones

advantages
one of the biggest advantages of using limited animation is the fact that it cuts down on the overall cost. also limited animation have allowed loads of animated short and TV series to be produced.
disadvantages

Cel-animation
cel animation is the process of using technique to draw each of the frames by hand.

The main advantage of cut-out animation is that it requires a lot less drawings than full cell animation which is great if you are working on a project as a solo animator. The animator can use a single drawing, cut into pieces, to represent movement that would otherwise require hundreds of cells.

The main disadvantage for using cut-out animation is that it is very difficult using 2-d shapes and cut-outs to get smooth, fluid movement. Particularly movement towards and away from the camera is difficult to achieve due to using 2-d shapes.

Stop motion is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object so that it appears to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a fast sequence.

Anime a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children.

Cut out animation is animations made from flat images with a flat background normally made from materials such as card or paper.
Some of the very first films were made using this method and by taking pictures and making them into frames and by moving these pieces of material each time creates an animation that appears to be moving. (1918 Quirino Cristiani) This is still done now mainly using computers and vector images. Examples of animations that use these are series such as South Park and the Miracle of flight by Monty Python.

Anime is a style of Japanese animation aimed at both adults and children.

Drawn animation is the most traditional type of animation. This particular animation is the art of creating animation by hand. Each frame in Drawn animations are designed by hand. Drawn Animation starts of by making a storyboard, in which images and words are brought together to create an idea. Drawn Animation was introduced in 1906 by Blackton. this is where the first piece of drawn work was designed on standard films. movies that use Drawn animation are Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Snow white and the seven Dwarfs.
