Why are students and workers judged for wear wearing makeup to school and to work?

Students and workers should be able to wear makeup to a school or workplace because there are logical, ethical, and moral evidence to prove makeup is used to enhance your natural beauty in a way your self-confidence can't help. Several people have voiced their opinions .

A teacher and a registered nurse are among the few that have given their opinions on this topic. A kindergarten teacher replied that her students notice if she is wearing or not wearing makeup. She teaches five-year-olds that can tell the difference from what makeup looks like on their teacher. The teacher also replied back that since she works with little kids, she does not wear too much makeup in front of them, and says that blush and a little lipstick will do. The registered nurse has said she judges someone to a limit. She will not judge someone with how much makeup they choose to put on, but instead will judge if someone comes to work wearing inappropriate clothes or has messy hair she will judge. The teacher and registered nurse have very similar arguments to what they think about whether makeup is too inappropriate.

Why are people criticizing others for wearing makeup?

There are two different situations that have come forth. Being criticized for someone's choice and criticizing others for a logical reason are the two that have come forth. People, like public relations executives and teenage girls have logical reasons on the debate about makeup. The public relations executive talks about how some hair and makeup is acceptable while some is not. They said that mascara under the eyes or messed up hair is considered to be unacceptable. But a light layer and a nude lip is acceptable. A teenage girl that has an opinion on this debate, stating when she goes to school she sees everyone wearing makeup and then when she goes to tutoring she gets criticized by her tutor for wearing makeup. Her tutor has told her that she should not wear makeup and has given her a tissue or makeup wipe and state that she should not come back until her makeup is completely wiped. In conclusion, the public relations executive and the teenage girl are similar because they both have said that a simple coat of makeup will do, and they should not be criticized or punished for it because people deserve to express their way through makeup.

A principal thought that most girls are gonna focus on makeup and not what teachers are supposed to teach. (Wright page #3) Even though some teachers and principals do not like makeup other teachers and principals do. I think that principal is wrong because makeup is art and art is most likely an elective at that principals school.

Does makeup hurt someone's confidence in themselves?

Some people wonder that. People have different opinions about this. Principals and administrators have made it in their rulebook to prevent makeup, such as cosmetics and beauty in their schools. They have said that cosmetics, like makeup, make their students interested in things that are not academic related. A teenager has talked about how her school has called her down to confront her on how much makeup she's wearing isn't allowed to wear any of it. This is a bad situation for her because doing your makeup in the morning can take up from five minutes to half an hour, depending on what you put on. There are also other things for principals to focus on at school other than what student is wearing makeup and what student isn't.
