As I walk through this space I can hear trees wooshing, birds chattering, the squeak of the swings, leaves and sticks crunching under my feet, dogs barking. I feel at peace and calm as I slowly take in everything around me.

This place makes me feel like time has frozen and I have nowhere to be. I am just enjoying being at peace with nature and. I can hear the birds squawking knowing they are all coming home to rest for the night which reminds me of when I come home exhausted from work, flying in to my house and knowing theres a safe space to greet me where I can finally relax. I often play calming music while I study and write my assignments as I find it clears my mind and allows me to think clearly. This idea is also represented in A reggio inspired Atelier via “Problem solving, concept development, divergent thinking, and language development are also thought to be a part of a musical play experience” (Tarnowski 1999).

I returned to this park in the middle of the day and the area was completely changed. The sounds had quietened and the area felt silent and still. Squeaking from the sounds is all I could hear and appreciate. It gives the feeling of peace and calm. I feel like I can slow down and take a breath before I continue with my life. The reading “Inner deep listening and quiet still awareness” really resonated with my feelings on this and I enjoyed the quote of “we don't like to hurry. There is nothing more important than what we are attending to. There is nothing more urgent that we must hurry away for.” (Ungunmerr-Baumann,2002) Because that is exactly how I feel when I am standing on country.
