<title>Behaviourist Model - (Skinner) Learning language is accomplished through reinforcement. A child starts to make a sound like a recognizable word and he/she receives positive feedback from a caregiver. Thus, language arises from stimuli and stimuli response. </title>

<title>Establish a foundation of decoding, phonemic awareness, spelling, and vocabulary. Phonics&#39; instruction is short, systematic and intensive dependent upon student age and ability. Continually model and practice making the implicit, explicit by teaching the thinking, comprehension, constructing meaning, and metacognition of reading. Phonics and comprehension are accomplished through the use of authentic, whole texts. Ultimate goal is the meaning making of text. </title>

<title>Implement the processes and instruction embedded in the Writer&#39;s Workshop model. Students choose writing topics, set goals aided by the teacher, document progress towards goals and self-assess skills. Teacher&#39;s main role is to provide authentic writing experiences, assist students in obtaining their goals, facilitate peer assessments, and teach mini-lessons on issues that arise. Students consider the reader (audience) of their writing to help them construct text that possesses successful writing traits.</title>
