         <description><![CDATA[<div>Games for teaching the simple past to adults students.&nbsp;<br><br>A White Board&nbsp;<br><br>Odds are, your classroom will come equipped with either chalk boards or white boards along at least one wall. If they don’t, you should absolutely go out and get the biggest one you can find. White boards are irreplaceable for the ESL teacher. Not only can you write on them as you teach (and you should always present information to ESL students both orally and in writing), they can be used for tons of classroom activities.&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;Based on the classic TV game show, this game will require your students to put on their thinking caps. Divide your whiteboard into columns for vocabulary categories and rows with different point values, this activity we can suggests them to use with the simple past where they can play in the classroom, having interaction with each other: &nbsp;<br><br>Procedure:&nbsp;<br><br>Divide your adults into two teams. Each team chooses a category and the points they want to play for: We choose Countries for 25 points. Supply a clue or definition: This country is south of the US, and they eat tacos there, they tell if they have eaten one using the simple past. They must guess the right country in the form of a question: What is Mexico? If they answer correctly, you erase the points from the chart and add them to the team’s tally until they’re all wiped off. Adapt this game to any level of difficulty and include as many categories as you wish, in our case for teaching the simple past top adults students.&nbsp;<br><br>1.
