Also, we have to be careful about one assignment within a category becoming the entire grade for that category. Show up, put forth effort = full credit
Long term, excused absences able to do written work to make up
Student starts with 100 and goes down if non-participation or behavior issues, or absence wo/ makeup
80-90% of kids make up classes.

Disadvantage, students feel compelled to make up all classes
