The tragedy Findley faced was his mother's death. He did not want to talk at all so when he got assigned to mentor Russ Washington he was not really interested at all. They both pursued dreams of playing basketball even though they have both been through so much. This novel let me know that even though I go through a lot, it will not stop me from pursuing my dreams.
