This are some of the student's lockers. Each student in this school have their own locker, where they can leave some of their stuff (like books, clothes, food,...). They all have a keypad where you can put a secret code to open the locker.

By leaving the coats at the lobby, the students don't have to carry too many things

Due to the cold finnish weather, every finn at Vesalan Peruskoulu has a very thick coat. That is why all the finnish students must leave their coats at the lobby of the school. This way, they dont have to carry them all the time inside the school.

Promoting recycling in schools is a great way of curbing global warming

All the trash cans in Vesalan Peruskoulu have the design shown in the picture above. This leads students to recycle while they are in the school, and encourages them to recycle at home.

Having a map of the school in the corridors help visitors and new students to know where their classrooms are

In Vesalan Peruskoulu, you can find many maps of the school around the corridors. They are there to help new students to orientate in the school and learn where their classrooms are, so they don't get lost.

Vesalan Peruskoulu is always sorrounded by snow in winter

Due to finnish weather, Vesalan Peruskoulu is always snowy in winter. This make cleaners upset because they are in charge of cleaning all the surroundings of the school. On the other hand, snow allows students to have more games to play, as throwing snowballs or making snowmans.

Once a week, a man from a society comes to the school and brings two table tennis tables with all the equipment and guys can play there and have fun during the breaks or if they don't have lessons at that time.

Camping trips

The school usually organises camping trips every year. They go to the forest and stay there like 3 days sleeping in tents, cooking food by themselves, and learning how to survive in the forest.

It's really interesting because they often do them and they just have fun and learn lots of thing there.
