With online advertising, it's easier than ever before to show people advertisements for your product. Through companies such as Google AdSense people can pay to have text and photo advertisements for their products posted on websites all around the world. With Google AdWords advertisements will be displayed above relevant search results.

I think advertising on YouTube is one of the most effective mediums of advertising. If you're planning on watching a YouTube video, you'll most likely have to watch an ad first - however you can usually skip it after about 5 seconds.

If an advertiser can make their video ad interesting enough, the viewer is captivated. Instead of just skipping the ad after 5 seconds they watch it the whole way through. A good example of this is an ad for a Vuly trampoline.

This ad is successful because it draws the viewers attention in using the promise of dropping an entire car in the trampoline. Viewers may voluntarily watch the advertisement past the required 5 seconds.
