1. Her dad is put in a hospital

Katie is just doing what she normally does in her house when the cops show up and tell her that her dad got into a fight while he was at work. Katie was used to her dad getting arrested, but this time was different. There was another car that showed up to take her to a foster home.

2 Katie is taken to the Claypools

Katie is taken to the Claypools and is put into her new room, where she has no clue how long she will be there. All Katie can think about is seeing her dad and trying to think what all happened to make him go to the hospital.

3 Katie finds out he's not her real father

Katie is finally given the chance to see her father again. Katie gets to the hospital, and she notices that the hospital is more like a prison. The first thing she noticed when she saw her dad was that he was in handcuffs. While she was at the hospital, her dad said to her, "Listen. Sorry I'm not your father. Not biological, I mean, I.... There's no time. Please, Katie. Christ, I don't even know your real name" (Girard 28). Katie talking to her dad and finding out he's not her real dad really sets her off to try an figure out her dad's conspiracy on 9/11.

4 Katie talks to Marilyn Wren

Katie is talking to lawyers to try and get one of them to take the case of her dad so she can get him out of the hospital as soon as possible. After getting told no many times by many different lawyers, she gets an interview with Marilyn Wren. Marilyn Wren doesn't take the case, but she does make a deal with Katie. The deal was that Katie would get to use the library at Maryland Law School, and she would have another meeting with Wren in one month.

5 Starts working with max

Katie was at the library trying to figure out what more stuff about 9/11 when a guy named Max came up to her to borrow a book. This started a little friendship with them, and Katie asked him to go with her to meet someone. " Max sat on the end of the stools along the outside of the counter that ran along the back of the restaurant. He was turned so it looked like he was watching the cooks work, but he definitely had his peripheral's on me" (Girard 119). This shows the moment Katie and Max really start to work together.

6 Meets Benevoulus 552

Katie and her friend Gianna find out about this Benevoulus guy, and they reach out to contact him through Gianna's computer. They set up to meet at a little restaurant, and Katie doesn't know what to expect. Katie sat at a table all alone when a guy came up to her and said he's the guy she's been waiting for, and he tells her to go to the Truthers convention in Philadelphia.

7 Katie gets kidnapped

Katie went out for the school's prom to let go of all the stress she's been under and has a good time. She decides to go with her friends and Max to one of their houses, where they have a fire and a small party. Katie goes to talk to one of her friends away from everyone else. " She'd gotten a scream out. One or maybe two before he'd grabbed her from behind, jammed the gun into her side, and shoved her into the pickup" (Girard 288). Katie is kidnapped by this guy, and he talks about shutting her and her dad up, but he doesn't get away with it, and he doesn't make it past the house.

9 Katie kidnaps Cobb.

Katie is mad at everyone, so she talks to her dad's friend called the dragon, and decides that they are going to grab Paul Cobb to hear the truth. "Paul Cobb's head was entirely cocooned in a canvas backpack. He was also tied to a metal chair in the center of the room" (Girard 311). After she kidnaps Cobb, she talks to him and it makes her realise that Cobb truly is one of the good guys and that she should have listened to him all along, so she decides to let him go and they both forget about what just happened.

8 Katie finds out Max was working for Cobb

After Max stops Katie from getting kidnapped, he tells her, " I was assigned to protect you" (Girard 293). At this moment Katie gets really mad and realises Max wasn't really her close friend and he was just there to protect her.

10 Katies dad made it out of the hospital and got the help he needed.

Katie is able to get Marilyn Wren to take the case and they are able to get her father out of the hospital and take him to a place in Cleveland that works with people who deal with PTSD get him the help that he needed.
