The final book of the romance novel
Prologue-Moscow, Russia:
The Russians gathered around in the building where all experiments are done and started discussing the sudden disappearance of their experiments, Aquafina and Joseph.
A Russian said to the experiment leader, “We need to bring Aquafina and Joseph back in here for questioning, but they’re really stubborn and probably won’t tell the truth.”
The experiment leader adjusted his glasses and smirked at the guy who brought up the idea of bringing Joseph and Aquafina back, “What if I told you that I know a way to get them back?”
The other guy went up to the experiment leader and asked him seriously, “What do you have planned? It better not be anything bad or else everyone will kick you out of the position as experiment conductor.” The leader smirked again and pressed his hands against his desk angrily, “Michelin, you can’t do anything, got it? You’re just a side piece in this whole operation!” The other guy glared at the leader and scowled, “Fine, but you need to chill.” The leader shook his head annoyed then yelled in front of everybody, “Nobody tells ME what to do!” Everyone nodded scared and the leader smirked and cracked his knuckles maliciously, “Now let’s get down to business.”
Chapter 1- Aquafina:
I was in mine and Joseph’s room putting my blindfold on and trying to communicate with the dead, “Hi there. How did you die? When did you die?” Joseph walked in the room cringing and lifted my blindfold up, raising an eyebrow, “Did you just ask the dead how and when they died?”
I shrugged and grabbed a Cheeto, “I just was curious.” Joseph nodded and was waiting at the door. I raised an eyebrow at him, “What are you waiting for? Who are you waiting for?” Joseph sighed then anxiously looked out the door hole, “Alex, Roger, and Anthony are coming over. They were supposed to be here by now.”
I nodded then said to him, “Maybe they had something to do last minute.” Joseph replied back to me sighing sadly, “Maybe.” I looked down then got up, “I’m just gonna go visit Rita, Monica, and Karma. I don’t want to be a burden.” I grabbed my coat and Joseph watched me leave.
At the girls’ house, we were doing eachother’s makeup and talking about boys. Monica was brushing her blonde hair, “Boys are jerks.” I nodded and Rita applied lipgloss on my lips, “For sure.” Karma had one of Monica’s corsets in her hands and was about to steal some of her jewelry, until Monica stopped her and asked her, “Why are you stealing my stuff, bitch?”
I watched the drama unfold and rolled my eyes, waiting for a text from Joseph, but no text. I groaned angrily and mumbled, “Not even one text.” Karma looked at me, “Girl, leave him alone. He’s with Roger, Alex, and Anthony.” I glared at Karma, “All I’m asking for is one text.” Karma grabbed Monica’s earrings then put them in her ear softly, “At this point, you’re just begging for attention.” I scoffed, “I don’t like attention, I don’t want it.” Rita was doing her mascara and chuckled at me, “That’s the fakest shit I’ve heard all year.” I groaned irritated and put a pillow over my head silently screaming.
Chapter 2- Joseph:
At Walmart, Alex and Roger were looking at the women’s clothes while I was just casually walking around the store with Anthony. Anthony looked at me and asked, “Are you okay?”
I looked down and slowly nodded, “Yep, I’m fine. Perfectly fine.” Alex saw a rainbow dress and asked Roger, “Baby, would I look good in this?” Roger cringed at him, “What the f-?” Alex laughed and kept looking at women’s clothes.
I looked at Alex and remembered that we dated a long time ago. Anthony raised a brow at me, “What you thinking about?” I looked away from Alex then looked in Anthony’s eyes, “Nothing, nothing.” Anthony squinted his eyes at me and I shouted at him agitated, “IT’S NOTHING, OKAY?” Alex, Roger, and everyone at the store looked at me shocked and Anthony softly whimpered.
I sighed then rubbed Anthony’s shoulder comfortingly, “I’m sorry, man. Honestly.” Anthony softly smiled at my touch, “It’s okay. I know you have a lot going on.” I smiled back at him and ruffled his hair playfully, “You like it when I touch you, don’t you?” Anthony chuckled and I smirked, tickling Anthony. Anthony laughed really hard and I smiled, tickling him more. Alex and Roger looked our way and Alex had a sad smile on his face. Roger picked up a red lace bra and held it up against his chest and looked in the mirror, “Gorgeous.” Alex looked at Roger and giggled, playfully slapping his shoulder.
Chapter 3- Jiu:
I was asleep in bed, until my mom walked in and threw a blue Hanbok at me, “Wake up, Jiu. Family is coming over.” I groaned annoyed and watched my mom walk out of my room and into the dining room to finish setting up for dinner.
I grabbed the Hanbok and was about to head into the bathroom to change, until I got a text from Antonio. I held the Hanbok tighter in my hand and read the text message to myself, “Hey, I was thinking a lot about our relationship and I think we need to take a break.”
I started tearing up at the message and threw my phone in the trash, getting dressed in the bathroom into my Hanbok with mascara dripping down on my face from all the crying. My eomma knocked on my bathroom door, “Jiu! Hurry!”
I was drowning in my own tears and I ran water over my face, putting the Hanbok on sadly. After my crying session, I went downstairs and saw my cousins, grandparents, and my aunts and uncles. At the dinner table, we all were saying grace, until I started breaking down in more tears at the dinner table in front of everybody. Fuck, I just embarrassed myself. My eomma asked me concerned, “Yah! Are you okay? No crying at the dinner table!” I sniffled and wiped my tears away, putting a fake-smile on my face, “Yep, I’m fine.”
Chapter 4- Aquafina:
Monica was walking around the room blasting Avril Lavigne and I was talking to Rita. Suddenly, Monica’s little brother walked in the room and grabbed his iPad from his sister’s underwear drawer, looking at all of us.
He looked at me and had heart-eyes, “You’re pretty.” Rita and I stopped talking due to his interruption and I smiled at the boy, “Thanks, kid.”
The little boy giggled and asked me, “Are you and Joseph still a thing?” Rita looked at me and I looked at her then back at the boy, “We actually are, but I don’t think we’re going to last.” The little boy pouted sadly and grabbed his teddy bear from his closet, handing the teddy bear to me, “Just thought you might like this. Keep it.”
I softly smiled and hugged the little boy, “Thank you.” The little boy smiled and hugged me back, “What will you name it?” Rita smiled at the boy too and looked at me, “Yeah, what will you name it?” I looked at the teddy bear and held onto it tightly, “Joseph. I’m gonna name it Joseph.”
Karma softly smiled at me and asked, “Is there a reason why you chose Joseph specifically?” I held the teddy bear tighter, “I just love the name.” Karma nodded and was curling her hair. The little boy saw Monica’s closet open and rolled his eyes at her, “Sis, why is the closet open?”
Monica sighed, “Aquafina, you forgot to close the closet when you were grabbing one of my tops.” Rita raised an eyebrow at Monica, “Why are you so concerned about the closet being open?” Monica sighed, “Nevermind.” Karma chuckled and said to the boy, “When you grow up, you’ll know what an open closet symbolizes.” The little boy pouted again and asked me, “What does an open closet mean?” Monica sighed and escorted her brother outside of her room, “Sorry about that, besties.” We all giggled and took a selfie together, posting it on Instagram.
Chapter 5- Alex:
At Walmart, I was still looking at women’s clothes with Roger and I looked over to where Joseph was at. Fuck, I’m too infatuated with him.
I angrily gave Roger the summer dress I picked up from the racks and went up Joseph and Anthony. Anthony looked at me confused, “Alex, what do you want?” Joseph looked me up and down and furrowed an eyebrow, “Yeah, what do you want?”
I pulled Joseph aside to the shoe section of Walmart and cried, “Fine, maybe I do still love you, but you’re happier around Anthony and Aquafina already, right? You don’t need me ruining your life more than it’s already ruined.”
Joseph sighed sadly then looked me straight in the eyes, “We’re adults, Alex, not kids anymore. I’m in love with Aqua-“. I said to him defensively, “You’re in love with Aqua because you're trying to hide the fact that you like boys. You only love Aqua because she’s an alien, right?” Joseph protested against what I said upset, “That’s not true!”
I looked Joseph up and down and scowled, “Stop the internalized homophobia. We all know you love Aqua because she looked like a boy when you first met her. Stop denying the truth.” Joseph hesitated and I fake-smiled at him, storming out of Walmart with Roger as Joseph watched me go. Anthony rubbed Joseph’s shoulder comfortingly and watched me and Roger go, “Everything will be okay, man.” Joseph rested his head on Anthony’s shoulder and mumbled, “I hope.”
Chapter 6- Aquafina:
Back at home, I was watching Friends, until Joseph walked in the door. I looked at him and asked, “How was your boys day out?” Joseph shrugged and kicked off his shoes, “Not the best.”
I pouted cutely and backhugged him, “Can I make your day better?” Joseph nodded and I kissed his cheek affectionately, “There.” Joseph smiled at me, “Thanks, baby.”
I smiled back and went back on the bed, watching Ross and Rachel make out on the TV screen.
Joseph sat down beside me and looked at the TV, “You’re a Friends fan?” I nodded, “Yeah, are you?” Joseph shrugged, “I personally prefer Seinfeld over Friends, it’s funnier.” I pouted sadly and Joseph hugged me tightly, “I still love you.”
I giggled then softly pulled away, “Joseph?” Joseph placed a hand on my thigh then looked at me, “Yes?” I looked at his hands on my thigh then placed my hand on top of his, “What if there are people out there wanting to kill us?” Joseph held my face in his hands softly then responded back to me, “Listen, even if there are people on the lookout for us, it doesn’t matter. We can outrun any obstacle in our way as long as we’re together.”
I nodded and snuggled up on his chest as he held me close to him, “What if we don’t make it out alive?” He kissed my head softly then played with my hair, “We’re Joseph and Aquafina, we can do anything. Baby, stop thinking so negative, your sadness kills me more than you could ever imagine.” I cried softly then went into his arms more, “Sorry.” Joseph wiped my tears away with his thumb softly and admired my face, “You don’t have to be sorry for anything.”
Chapter 7- Alex:
Roger and I were cuddling up on the bed and watching Anne With An E until the power went out. We jumped scared and i cowered into the blanket freaking out, “What happened, babe?”
Roger shrugged then tried turning the generator on, but the generator was broken. I groaned irritated then sat on the edge of the bed annoyed, “What happened to the generator?”
Roger sighed then looked at me, “It’s broken.” I groaned again, “Now what are we supposed to do?” Roger turned the flashlight on his phone and whispered in my ear softly, “I think we want to do the same thing.” I blushed lightly as Roger placed his lips on mine and I placed mine back on his.
Roger held my waist tightly as I wrapped my arms around his neck. Roger pulled away from the kiss softly and looked in my eyes, “I love you, Alex.” I looked back into Roger’s beautiful brown eyes, “I-I love you too.” Roger softly smiled and kissed me again. Just as I was about to kiss Roger back, the power went back on and we jumped scared. I looked at Roger, “Babe, what just happened?” Roger flicked the bedroom light on and smirked, “The electromagnetic energy gods heard us. Amen.” I rolled my eyes playfully at Roger and threw a pillow at him, “Shut the fuck up.”
Chapter 8- Jiu:
Shortly after dinner, I excused myself and went outside to walk around the neighborhood and get fresh air. Just as I was heading to the park while crying, Antonio grabbed my arm then looked in my eyes, “Jiu?”
I glared at him and yanked my arm away from him, “What?” Antonio held my face in his hands and said to me on the brink of tears, “I still love you. I never stopped.”
I looked him up and down and slapped his hands away from my face, “If you truly did love me, you wouldn’t have left me.” Antonio rolled his eyes then said defensively to me, “And this is why I had to break up with you. You’re a spoiled brat. You make everything about you.”
After he said that, my eyes turned bloodshot and I yelled at him, “I make everything about me? You can’t be fucking serious right now. When we dated, I gave my all into our relationship and this is what I get in return?” Antonio’s face turned red in anger and he scowled, “Stop acting so entitled. I get it, your family is rich, but that doesn’t give you the right to act like none of this shit isn’t your fault.”
I pointed a finger at him while in tears and said in defense to him, “That’s because none of this shit is my fault.” Antonio gasped in shock after what I said and he clenched his fists tightly, “You know what? You’re just like Aquafina.” I cried extremely hard and said sadly, “I’m nothing like that bitch.” Antonio shook his head at me irritated, “Keep telling yourself that.” After he said that, he stormed away into his car and slammed the drivers door once he got in as I watched his car leave sadly.
Chapter 9- Raegan (New Girl):
As my mother was finishing up loading all of my furniture and boxes into my new home in Los Angeles, I went on Twitter and tweeted about how disgusting the house looked.
A plain white house with a fucking tire swing? Last time I checked, this was 2022, not the fucking 50s. My mom showed me my bedroom, “Raegan, I present to you your new bedroom. You can hang up your Avril Lavigne posters up once the room is repainted and once you choose a wallpaper.”
I looked at my bedroom in disgust, “It’s gross.” My mom chuckled at me and played with my platinum blonde hair, “Raegan, you’re gonna love this place.” I cringed at her, “Mom, I’m 24. I’m not a kid anymore. I can’t see myself living alone in this shitty house- if you can call it a house.” My mom kissed my head then grabbed her purse, “Enjoy LA, kiddo. Try to find yourself a boy or something.” I rolled my eyes and watched her leave.
After her car drove away, I went outside and knocked on my neighbor’s door. While waiting for the neighbor to open the door, I fluffed my hair. The neighbor opened the door and the boy smiled, “Hello. Are you the new girl here?” I rolled my eyes and walked into his house with my shoes on, cuz y’know, fuck courtesy. The boy smiled at me, “You can sit down if you want.” I made a disgusted face at him and said to him, “You call this a house? If you wanna call it house, at least clarify that a homeless person built it with zero budget.” The boy looked at me offended and said back to me defensively, “This house costed me $30K.” I chuckled then looked at his clock, “Well, mine costed $70K.”
The boy scowled, “Anyways, I’m Dominic.” I got my vape out and replied back to him, “And I’m Raegan. Anyways, are there any interesting guys I should meet? I’m bored.” Dominic sighed then pointed across the street, “My best friend lives there if you want to meet him.” I nodded and walked to the other guy’s house. Just as I was about to walk to the door, the other guy raised an eyebrow at me, “What are you doing here?” I looked at him and crossed my arms, “Dominic sent me here. What are YOU doing here?” The other boy said defensively, “This is my house. Anyways, my name’s Roger.” I said to him in disgust and gagged, “Roger? That’s such a basic white boy name. Let me guess, you’re one of those SoundCloud rappers, aren’t you?” Roger sighed, “No, I’m not a SoundCloud rapper and my name has Germanic origins and means “spear”. Also, what’s your definition of basic white boy?” I chuckled again then responded back to him, “A basic white boy has black hair, wears plaid clothing, and is a try-hard.” Roger crossed his arms at me, “So, Demetri of Cobra Kai and Mike of Stranger Things are basic white boys too?” I nodded, “Definitely basic white boys.”
Roger groaned annoyed, “What do you want, Regina George?” I vaped in front of him, “You to show me around, SoundCloud rapper.” Roger sighed and hesitated, then looked back at me, “Fine, but I gotta be home in like an hour because my boyfriend is-,” I choked on the smoke of my vape and looked at him shocked, “Boyfriend?! You’re gay?! You’re gonna go to Hell.” Roger said savagely to me, “Yes, I know. I take hot showers to see what Hell will feel like when I go there when I die at the age of 87.” I rolled my eyes and we walked around the neighborhood. I pointed at the house on the corner, “That’s a nice place.” Roger nodded and looked at me, “I know right, my friends Joseph and Aquafina live there. I wonder what they’re doing now.” This time I raised an eyebrow at him and asked, “Aquafina? Like the water?” Roger nodded, “Yup, like the water.” I let out a soft giggle and Roger giggled too, admiring me. I wonder what LA will bring.
Chapter 10- Anthony:
I was at home reading 50 Shades, until I heard a knock at the door. I took off my glasses, sighed, then opened the door to see Joseph. I raised an eyebrow at him, “So, what happened this time?”
Joseph shook his head at me and paced back and forth in the living room, “You see, I think I have a crush on you, but I’m madly in love with Aqua, and I’m still thinking about Alex. Is that normal for a guy like me?”
I shrugged and took a sip of my sweet tea, “Well, maybe you’re gay like Alex said.” Joseph his head at me in denial, “No! I’m not! I love Aqua!” I chuckled then sat on the couch with my legs wide open, “Yep, keep telling yourself that…”
Joseph gulped then looked at my legs, “W-why a-are y-you s-s-sitting like that?” I flirted with Joseph, “Sitting like what?” Joseph gulped again then nervously laughed, “Anthony, stop it.” I flirted with Joseph again, “Bitch, if you want to get in between these sexy legs, now’s your chance.”
Joseph blushed then looked away from me, “I can’t. I’m sorry.” I gave him puppy-dog eyes and patted in-between my legs, “Come on.” Joseph blushed harder then sat on my lap. I looked him in the eyes, “Things are different between us. Remember how we were in high school?” Joseph looked back in my eyes, “I remember.” I nodded then held his waist tightly, “We hated eachother before, now look at us.” Joseph nodded too then softly pecked my lips, “I’m sorry.” I held his face in my hands, “I’m sorry too.” Joseph danced his fingers along my stomach then we started having a hot makeout session. It’s very interesting.
Chapter 11- Dominic:
Roger and I were having a beer together on the porch and discussing life. I looked at Roger as I took a sip of my beer and asked him, “So did you meet Raegan, the new girl?”
Roger nodded, “Yup, she gives off Regina George vibes, but she’s hot.” I nodded in agreement, “Agreed, I’m surprised she doesn’t have a boyfriend yet.”
Roger took a sip from his beer and looked at me, “You should ask her out.” I shrugged then looked off into the distance, “Maybe, maybe not. What if you like her?”
Roger sighed, “I’m already with Alex.” I nodded to him, “I know you are, it was just an idea.” Roger saw Raegan walking with her friends and he choked on his beer by how hot she was, “Damn, Raegan looks amazing.”
I looked where he was looking and I choked on my beer too, “Holy shit, she looks like one of those Victoria’s Secret models.” Roger set down his beer and walked up to Raegan, “Hey, wanna hang out sometime? I mean, it’s okay if you don’t want to, I know we’re not that close.” Raegan softly smiled at me, “Sure, let’s do it.” Roger smiled back at her, “Okay! What date and time?” Raegan giggled then asked me, “Is 12 PM on Saturday good?” Roger nodded excitedly, “For sure. See ya!” Raegan waved goodbye to him and I chuckled as he walked back to me. Roger rolled his eyes at me, “Bitch, stop.” I laughed and he started laughing too.
Chapter 12- Joseph:
Alex, Roger, Aquafina, Anthony, Rita, Monica, and I were shopping at the mall and Aquafina was admiring lingerie at Victoria’s Secret. I chuckled then stood beside her as she put the lingerie over her chest, “Pretty.”
I giggled then responded back to her, “Yes, very pretty.” Aquafina giggled too then looked at me, “Well, if I’m pretty, then you’re handsome.” I chuckled, “Hmm, I guess that’s how it works.” Aquafina giggled again and I smiled to myself while looking at the shoes, “Holy fuck, they have Vans!”
Rita was taking pics of herself and stole a pretzel from a random little boy’s hand, “This mall is huge.” Roger raised an eyebrow at Rita while holding Alex’s hand, “Did you seriously just steal a pretzel from a random kid?”
Rita chuckled then stuck her tongue out at Roger, “Yeah, bitch, I did. Have a problem with that?” Roger chuckled at Rita, “You do you, I guess.” Alex laughed then went inside Spencer’s.
Monica and Karma were drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee together as Aquafina and I were still shopping together. Aquafina went up to the register and set all her stuff down in front of the cashier. The cashier scanned all the stuff then looked at Aqua and I, “Are you two married?” I responded back to the cashier, “Yeah, we are.” The cashier giggled, “Cute. Judging from how good-looking you two are, y’all will have beautiful children.” I side-hugged Aqua then smiled at the cashier, “I know we will.” The cashier giggled again then gave Aquafina the receipt, “Invite me to the baby shower, you two!” I looked at Aqua then back at the cashier, “For sure!” and we all left the mall with lots of junk in our hands.
Chapter 13- Antonio:
Jiu and I were at the doctor’s office and waiting in the waiting room because of her pregnancy. Things were hella awkward between us.
Jiu was reading a magazine and ignoring me, until I decided to talk to her. I looked at the magazine she was reading and chuckled, “You weirdo.” Jiu looked at me for one brief second then softly giggled, “Thanks for the compliment.”
I giggled too then offered her her favorite candy bar, Snickers, “Want some?” Jiu looked at me again then nodded, “Sure.” I smiled and gave her the Snickers bar as we were still waiting for the doctor to come out.
A half hour later, the doctor came out to the waiting room and gestured us into her room. Jiu asked the doctor, “So, what are the results?” The doctor looked both of us in the eyes and said to us, “Your child is a girl.”
Jiu and I exchanged glances then hugged eachother. The doctor smiled then gave us a paper with info on our baby on it, “And the baby is due on Halloween.” I smiled brightly then side-hugged Jiu, “We’re having a Halloween baby.”
The doctor smiled, “Yes, you two are having a Halloween baby. What will you name her?” Jiu and I looked at eachother and she responded back to the doctor, “We don’t know yet.” The doctor winked at us, “You two will be the best parents ever. I just know it.” The doctor waved goodbye to us and called up another patient.
Chapter 13- Joseph:
In the car after our trip to the mall, it was 11 PM at night and Aqua and I just sat in the parking lot, looking out the car windows. I looked at all the stuff Aqua bought and said to her, “You know that you’re sexy as is, right?”
Aquafina nodded then looked at me, “I know.” I smiled softly and looked out the window again. Aquafina let out a small smirk and pulled my face towards her, “Hey, look.”
I looked up at her as she slipped off her shirt and straddled me against the car seat. I was shook and she unbuttoned my polo shirt and placed a finger over my lips, “I’m the dom now.”
I admired her face as she smirked more, “What are you waiting for?” I responded back, speechless, “Um-I-I thought you were the dom.” Aquafina flipped her hair then started moving her body up and down on me, “Oh, that’s right. I forgot.”
I chuckled at her, letting out a soft moan, “A-ah, d-damn, fuck, you never forget.” Aquafina smirked again and left hickeys on my neck. Just as we were getting to the good part, a homeless person knocked on the car door. Aquafina sighed sadly and got off me. I rolled down the car window and asked the homeless guy, “What’s up?”
The homeless guy asked us, “May I have some money?” Aquafina got out her wallet, but I put her wallet down and mouthed to her, “No, don’t.” Aqua pouted sadly and I responded back to the homeless guy, “Sorry, but we ain’t falling for your scam.”
Aqua took out her wallet again and a packet of cocaine fell out of it and I looked down at it. Aquafina gulped and gave me one scared glance, quickly placing the packet back in the wallet, “Pretend you didn’t see that.” The homeless guy walked away and I looked at Aquafina concerned. She put her wallet back and looked back at it. I placed a hand on her thigh and I drove her back home.
Chapter 14- Raegan:
I was laying in bed with Roger and my alarm clock went off at 8 AM. Roger rubbed his eyes and yawned, “Good morning, my friend with benefits.” I chuckled and got up from the bed and was looking through my drawers and closet to figure out what to wear for the day, “Good morning, Mr. SoundCloud rapper.”
I hopped in the shower real quick and brushed my hair while putting makeup on. Roger looked at me confused, “Umm, why are you in such a rush?” I responded back to him, “I’m hosting a party here and I invited all the contacts in your phone.” Roger sighed, “Fine.”
Fast forward to 5 PM, everyone started coming to my house for the party. Roger was talking to Alex and I was talking to my friends, until Joseph and Aquafina walked in holding eachother’s hands and dressed up elegantly.
I raised an eyebrow at them and looked at Joseph, “I heard a lot about you two.” Joseph nodded nervously and Aquafina rubbed his hand comfortingly, “Y-yeah…” I chuckled then asked Joseph, “So you’re autistic?” Aquafina gasped in shock at what I said and held onto Joseph tighter. Joseph furrowed an eyebrow at me then responded back offended, “Yeah, so?”
I chuckled again, “No wonder why you have so much issues.” Joseph exchanged looks with Aqua then fake-smiled at me, “Thanks, now back off, won’t you?” As Joseph and Aquafina were walking towards Roger and once everybody arrived, I grabbed Aquafina’s arm then made fun of her, “So, I hear you were born as a boy at birth.”
Joseph put his tongue into his cheeks and clenched his fists in anger. Aquafina responded back to me defensively, “Excuse me?!” I laughed mockingly then continued, “You’re one of those transgenders, aren’t you? You should go to a mental hospital, honey, if you were born with a dick, then you are and will always be a boy.”
Joseph fired back at me defensively, “And where’s your proof?” I flipped my hair savagely at Joseph, “A blog I read.” Joseph laughed at me mockingly, “Damn, sucks for you. Nothing you say will ever separate Aqua and I. Period.” I rolled my eyes and went up to the bar area.
Alex pulled Anthony, Rita, Monica, Karma, Aquafina, and Joseph into a room upstairs, “Raegan is a transphobic jerk.” Karma nodded in agreement, “Exactly, she crossed the line.” Joseph replied to Karma, “What Raegan said is most likely not true.” Alex looked at Joseph, “Actually, Raegan was right about Aquafina being transgender. On Mars, all aliens are born as transgender at birth. When Aqua went through the transformation machine, she basically transitioned to a girl.”
Joseph kissed Aquafina’s head then looked at Alex, “I still love her.” Alex smiled and cuddled up on a pillow on the guest bed, “This feels like high school all over again.” Rita giggled, “I know right, but we’re more mature now.” Everyone nodded in agreement and went into a grouphug. Aquafina smiled at everybody, “I’m gonna grab some drinks.” Everybody nodded and Aquafina went downstairs to grab some wine and vodka. But, I had a bigger plan.
Chapter 15- Aquafina:
I was drinking a few shots and doing some cocaine, until Raegan went up to me and threw my cocaine in the trash and poured my drinks in the sink, “I’m sorry.”
I looked at the cocaine packet in the trash then glared at her, “Apology not accepted.” Raegan sighed then looked me in the eyes, “Why do you rely on drinks and drugs?” I scowled at her, “Shut the fuck up, okay? I don’t.”
Raegan held my face in her hands, “You understand that alcohol and toxic drugs could kill you, right?” I slapped her hands off and shouted to her crying, “What if that’s what I want? Huh?”
Just as I was storming away to go back to Joseph and the others, Raegan pulled me close to her and kissed me on the lips. I pulled away from the kiss quickly and shook my head at her, “No, fuck no.” Raegan looked me up and down, “Do you do drugs because of Joseph?”
I started breaking down in tears and yelled at Raegan, “I SAID SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Alex, Joseph, and the others heard and ran down the stairs and held me in their arms as I cried in them. Joseph looked at Raegan and stroked my hair, “Why, just why?”
Raegan was fighting back tears and didn’t respond. Roger stood beside Raegan and defended her, “She was apologizing to Aqua and she was concerned about her. She didn’t have any bad intentions.”
I cried more in their arms and Joseph whispered in my ear, “Shh, baby, everything is okay. I promise.” Alex glared at Raegan angrily, “Well, you crossed the fucking line. Fuck you.” Raegan blinked her tears away then looked at everybody, “Party’s over, whores!” She started crying more and stormed out as Roger was trying to catch up to her. Monica sighed and facepalmed annoyed, “It’s one thing after another with y’all.” Joseph watched Raegan and Roger leave and mumbled, “You’re not wrong about that.”
Chapter 16- Ross (New guy):
I was in an alleyway with my gang beating up and killing innocent people. My friend, Justin, punched our victim over and over till she was dead and he stole her wallet, “So long, sucker.”
I laughed mockingly and counted the money in the lady’s wallet, “This old hag only has $5.” Justin looked in the wallet and took out her credit card, “And this.” I smirked and looked at Justin and other gang members, “Let’s go before the police come.” They all nodded and we walked away, until a ginger with curly hair and plaid button-up shirt and his girlfriend accidentally bumped into us.
I grabbed the boy’s shirt collar and pinned against the alleyway wall with a sharp as fuck knife under his throat, “Well, well, well, it’s that boy Joseph. Did you get some help regarding your retardness?” Joseph glared at me with anger, “Retardness isn’t a real word, first of all. Second of all, you aren’t anything special, so stop thinking you are.”
Aquafina was breathing heavily in anger and clenched her fists tightly. I put the knife closer to Joseph’s neck and smirked, “You know, your little girlfriend here deserves to be with a guy like me, not you. You’re just a boring little loser. What does she even find attractive about you? Literally nothing’s attractive.” I started laughing manically and was about to slit Joseph’s throat, until Aqua used her telepathy to break my arms and tilted her head, making me crash into the alleyway wall. Hard.
Joseph saw Aqua panting in exhaustion with blood dripping down her nose and blood all over her hands, “Baby, don’t worry. Everything will be okay. You did good.” Aqua started crying then looked into Joseph’s eyes, “I killed somebody. Papa said to not use my powers for bad.” Joseph hugged her tightly then kissed her tears away, “Listen, I love you, Aqua. You did a good thing.” Aqua nodded and cried harder, crying into Joseph’s shoulder.
Chapter 17- Roger:
Raegan and I were at the beach and Raegan lifted up her sunglasses to me, “Hey, can you pass me my cocktail?” I nodded and gave her the cocktail.
Raegan softly smiled and took a sip of it, “Mmm, still delicious as always.” I chuckled and a little kid splashed me with water, “Damn it.” Raegan giggled, “Haha.”
I rolled my eyes at her playfully and took her cocktail away as she looked in my eyes. Just as we were about to kiss, Alex started crying when he saw us and was storming away, until I grabbed him by his arm.
I held Alex’s hands tightly and looked in his eyes, “I swear, it’s not what it looks like.” Alex slapped my hands off angrily and scoffed at me, “It is, Rog, you even know it!” He stormed away and I looked at Raegan sadly.
Reagan sighed sadly and went over to me, “I guess Alex is mad now.” I sighed and watched Alex leave the beach, “Mad is an understatement.” Raegan nodded, “When will Alex stop overthinking things?” Roger sighed again, “Never.”
Chapter 18- Jiu:
I was watching a movie with Antonio on the couch and I saw a misogynist in it. I scoffed at the TV, “Some men need to understand that women aren’t fucking Barbie dolls.”
Antonio looked at me shocked, “What do you mean? Not all men are misogynistic.” I looked back at Antonio and responded back to him, “Literally every man is misogynistic in some way, shape, or form. Plus, all we females see is men in control.”
Antonio challenged me, “In control of what? Sex?” I rolled my eyes and replied back to Antonio, “Everything from sex to the entertainment industry to politics. When will us females ever get the representation we deserve?”
Antonio sighed and held my hands, “You females get plenty of representation.” I rolled my eyes again and stood up in front of him, “You want me to contradict that statement? Fine, I’ll go run for President and see how that goes if us females get “plenty” of representation.”
Antonio looked at me shocked as I stormed away and yelled after me, “Jiu! Wait!” Before he could chase after me, I was already in my car looking up how to run for President. Fuck, you have to be 35. I’m only 24. I’ll find another way to prove Antonio wrong. Just wait. I put down my phone and smirked to myself, driving to someplace I know that is full of male leadership- my old job.
Chapter 19- Raegan:
I was looking at myself in the mirror and then looked at the breakfast Roger made for me, “Raegan, no, don’t eat, you’re fat enough as is, you can’t gain weight. Restrict yourself.”
Roger walked out of the shower then rolled his eyes at me, “Girl, you aren’t fat at all.” I kept looking at myself in the mirror, “Okay, but I’m scared to gain weight. I don’t want that.”
Roger placed his arms around my waist then left a small peck on my neck, “I don’t love you for your body, Raegan, I love you for you.” I leaned into his touch then sighed, “I guess.” Roger softly smiled and was about to head out the door, until Rita walked in with 2 ice cream cones, “Did y’all forget I existed or something?” Roger sighed in annoyance because he can’t stand Rita and Rita chuckled, giving me her ice cream cone and licking the top of hers, “Roger, you can’t even count from 100 backwards. That shit’s easy, Mr. Nerd,”
Roger glared at Rita, “I will never forgive you for calling me daddy in high school.” Rita laughed mockingly at him, “Sorry, Mr. Nerd, but you were a transphobic misogynist then. Obviously you changed, but I have bigger things I can’t forgive you about.”
I let out a soft laugh then licked my ice cream cone, “And I heard you were racist, weren’t you?” Rita and I exchanged looks and started laughing. Roger had an angry look on his face then scoffed at Rita, “Stop bringing up the past, won’t you? That’s all you blacks are good for. Starting drama and acting like you own the whole world.” Rita started fuming in anger then put the middle finger directly into his face, “Say that again, I dare you.” I chuckled again and Roger stormed out angrily, slamming the door shut.
Chapter 20- Aquafina:
I ran water over my face after getting dressed into my hot silk nightgown and looked in the mirror, “Aqua, you have to do it tonight. No more holding back. Yes, he’ll be sad about it, but he’ll realize it’s for the best.”
After calming myself down, I went out to Joseph with my ponytail out of my hair and my blonde hair down over my shoulders, “J-Joseph?”
I nervously played with my hair and waited for a response. Joseph looked at me and asked confused, “What’s up?” I sighed sadly then looked into his eyes, “W-we need to talk.” Joseph gulped then looked at his empty bottle of beers near him and his 20 cigarette boxes then looked back at me, “Um, what about?”
I sighed again then sat on the edge of our bed, holding Joseph’s face in my hands, “I love you…” Joseph looked at my hands then back into my eyes, “I-I love you too…” I sighed again then looked away from his face, “But that’s the problem.”
Joseph looked at me with a confused face, “Wha-?” I looked down into my lap then held his hands tightly, looking into his eyes, “I love you too much, Joseph. Me loving you this much is unhealthy. You loving me this much is addicting. We’ve been through hell together, we had the best sex ever, we were a totally normal couple, until shit went downhill.”
Joseph started tearing up and I wiped his tears away, still looking into his eyes, “Listen, I’m an alien. You’re a human. I always knew we wouldn’t work out. We’re both mentally unstable and we both can’t control our emotions, which leads to misunderstandings between us and brutal fights and words that we both wish we’ve never said or done. You know how the things we need most have expiration date?” Joseph softly nodded and sniffled, “Y-yeah.” I wiped his tears away again then started tearing up too, “We’ve reached our expiration date. I’m sorry, but I’m only doing what’s right.” Joseph started tearing up harder and I pulled him close, kissing him on the lips passionately, “This is the end of us, so goodbye.” Joseph cried harder as I walked away from him and went out into the thunderstorm outside, crying on the bench.
Chapter 21- Dominic:
Roger knocked on the door to my house and rung the doorbell over and over to draw my attention. I groaned annoyed and opened the door, yawning to Roger, “What’s up?”
Roger sighed then started making coffee from my coffee machine without permission, “So, um, I have huge feelings for Raegan, but I’m dating Alex at the same time and Alex saw me and Raegan almost kiss and he’s pissed off at me now and I don’t know what to do.”
I rolled my eyes at Roger and crossed my arms at him, “Will it kill you to be honest with Alex? No. Just be honest, it’s not that hard.” Once the coffee machine started beeping, Roger poured the hot coffee into a mug and sipped it, “Yes, it will kill me, bro. It’ll kill him too.”
I facepalmed and sighed, “But you’re doing it for the greater good, aren’t you? Do you love Raegan?” Roger gulped and hesitated then responded back quietly, “I-I love Raegan.”
I groaned irritated at Roger, “Your stupidity shows, my guy. First you were in love with Alex, then Aquafina, and now Raegan? You’re the definition of a cheater.”
Roger shouted back at me defensively, “I’m not a cheater, what the fuck? I know my limits!” I shouted back at him angrily, “You can’t just use people, Roger! What good will that do you? Huh?!” Roger started tearing up and stormed out of my house upset. I watched him leave and sighed sadly, “Oh, great, I just lost another friend.”
Chapter 22- Alex:
I was at home crying in bed over Roger, until I heard a gunshot outside. I went to the window and peeked through the curtains to see the whole damn military and Russians searching for somebody.
I had a confused look on my face, but then I remembered Joseph and Aquafina. I gasped in realization then called Raegan, “Raegan, I hate you, but listen to me. Joseph and Aquafina are being targeted by the Russians and the government. They’re searching for them right now.”
Raegan gasped in shock then asked me, “What will the Russians and government do once they find them?” I replied back to her sadly, “They will either be taken back to Russia or Mars, or they will get killed.”
Raegan gasped again then asked me, “Okay, so what do we do?” I responded back to her sternly, “You tell the others what’s going on and we send Aquafina, Joseph, Roger, Antonio, Jiu, Anthony, Rita, Monica, and Karma into quarantine at your house.” Raegan sighed then replied back to me optimistically, “Let’s do this shit.” I chuckled and replied back to her, “Yeah, let’s do this.”
Chapter 23- Joseph:
Aquafina and I were at home, ignoring eachother since our breakup, until we got a call from Raegan and were told that the Russians and the government are on the lookout for us.
I responded in the phone to Raegan, “We’ll be right there.” I hung up the call then looked at Aquafina, “We have to go to Raegan’s house. Like right now.” Aquafina nodded confused and we quickly drove to Raegan’s house, walking inside to see everyone else there.
Raegan gathered everyone around in the living room and said to us, “Since I’m rich and have 10 rooms in my house, we all have to stay here in order to be safe. Antonio, Jiu, you stay down here. Roger, Alex, and I will stay down here too. Monica, Karma, Rita, stay in the left bedroom upstairs, Anthony stays by himself upstairs, and Aquafina and Joseph stay in the master bedroom upstairs.” We all nodded after hearing where we’re staying and ran upstairs into our rooms.
Everyone else was chilling in their rooms, while Aquafina and I were not looking at eachother and not saying a word to eachother on the bed. I was getting sick of the awkwardness between us, so I reached my hand towards her and held it tightly, “I’m an alcoholic.” Aquafina looked at our hands then into my eyes, nodding shyly, “I know. I’m a drug addict.”
I nodded too then looked down, holding her hands tighter, “But I’m addicted to you most.” Aquafina looked back in my eyes then held my face in her hands, “So am I, that’s why we had to break up for good. I fucking love you, Joseph, but we’re unhealthy. I know you’re hurt about the breakup, but it was for the best. Honestly, it hurts me too because you’re the only person I need and want in my life.”
I looked at her tearing up a bit and she wiped my tears away with her thumb then rested her forehead against mine, “Fuck me.” I looked at her shocked and she placed a finger over my lips, “I know we broke up, but we aren’t officially over until after our breakup sex.” I softly giggled then pinned her to the bed smirking, “You’re right.” Aquafina giggled then took off my shirt as we started having sex as if we were a couple again.
Our lips pulled away from eachother’s and I gazed into her eyes with much lust, “We can’t do this, we just broke up.” Aquafina sighed sadly then responded back to me in disappointment, “I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I still love you.” I responded back to her sighing, “I love you too, but it doesn’t make sense for us to do-,” I gestured towards the clothes on the floor then continued to Aqua, “This when we aren’t a thing anymore, people could think we still are.”
Aquafina crossed her arms at me offended, “Are you embarrassed of me?” I replied back defensively, “What?! How could I ever be embarrassed of you?” Aquafina looked at me bloodshot then said out of nowhere, “Well, I aborted our child.” I looked at her shocked and asked her angrily, “You aborted our child and didn’t tell me?! How could you?” Aquafina replied back to me crying and was putting her clothes back on in anger, “Wanna know why I didn’t tell you? Okay, it was because you would get pissed at me. Are you happy now?”
I replied back to her sarcastically, “Yeah, I’m enthusiastic about the thought that the girl I’ve loved for 10 years kept a big-ass secret from me.” Aquafina glared at me then stormed out to the living room towards Raegan, “Raegan, get your spoiled rich girl ass up and tell Joseph that he’s being a jerk?” I glared at her then yelled at Aquafina defensively, “I’m the jerk? Have you seen yourself?” Aquafina flipped me the middle finger then looked at Raegan, “I’m in the right here, right?” Raegan rolled her eyes irritated then said to Aqua annoyed, “What the fuck? None of you are in the right.” Aquafina gave me a sarcastic smile then walked past me, purposely shoving me while she was walking.
I was so pissed with Aqua that I decided to annoy her, “Oh, Aqua, I forgot to ask, what’s your body count?” Aquafina stopped walking and replied back to me sternly, not looking at me, “Fuck off.” I kept annoying her in anger, “No, tell me. What’s your body count? It must be 100, right? Do you wish to have a billion kids?” Aquafina bit her tongue in fury then scoffed at me, still facing away from me, “I wish you were dead.” After she said that, everybody, including me, had shocked expressions on our faces and she walked away to the closet upstairs, locking the door and crying. Raegan shook her head at me in disappointment and said emotionless to me, “I thought you were better than this, Jo.” After she said that, Raegan shoved past me too and ran upstairs to Aquafina.
Raegan heard Aquafina crying in the closet and opened it, hugging her tightly, “Listen, Aqua, Joseph didn’t mean what he said. At least I don’t think so.” Aquafina cried harder and said harshly, “Can I use my powers on him?” Raegan shook her head at Aqua, “Girl, no.” Aquafina pouted and cried in her lap more as Raegan tried comforting her.
Chapter 24- Violeta:
At the military camp, I had my purple hair in space buns with a strand of hair hanging down on the sides, flowers in my hair, and my leather armor on practicing archery.
I aimed my bow and arrow at the target and squinted my eyes, repositioning myself to successfully hit the target, until I slowly pushed the arrow back on the bow and pulled it back up.
I watched the arrow fly in its own, silently wishing for a bullseye, and suddenly I hit a bullseye. The others gathered around and started laughing like jerks. I scowled at them as the chief applauded my efforts, “Violeta, my dear Violeta, I’m proud of you.”
One of the guys chuckled and made fun of me, “She’s just a girl, Yves, I bet she can’t even shoot a gun.” I glared at him and challenged, “Yes, I can.” The guy laughed mockingly, “I’d love to see you try.” I snarled at him and grabbed a pistol, aiming it at the target.
Everyone gathered around to watch as I hit the bullseye three times in a row with the pistol. After hitting the bullseyes, I smirked to myself and set the gun down, “I told ya so.” The guys groaned in irritation then went back to training.
Just as I grabbed my backpack and was about to head into my dorm, the chief called me over to his office and I sat down in the chair in front of him, “Yes, sir?” The chief smoked a joint then told me, “You’re the strongest trainee at this camp, so I was thinking, would you like to join the military?”
I cleared my throat then nodded to him, “Yes, sir.” The chief raised an eyebrow at me, “Are you sure?” Just as I was about to answer, Growling Filipino walked in with a scared expression and pulled me aside freaking out, “Joseph and Aquafina are in danger.” I gasped in shock then asked him, “What’s wrong?”
Growling Filipino whispered to me, “The Russians and the government are after them both for escaping the lab. Listen, I overheard the chief on the phone earlier today and he talked about sending troops to kill Joseph and Aquafina. If you join the military, you’ll have to kill them.”
I mumbled to myself, “Fuck,” then I looked back up at him, “Okay, listen, we both can look through Yves’ files at night and see what he’s up to, and once we know where Joseph and Aquafina are and where the Russian’s route is, we escape this camp later at night. Got it?” Growling Filipino nodded to me, glaring at Yves, “I totally got it.” We smirked at eachother then started heading to our dorms. Boss bitches are in the house, and if the Russians and government step foot near Growling Filipino and I, we’re not afraid to kick their asses till they’re sore.
Chapter 25- Aquafina:
After 6 consecutive hours of locking myself in the closet and crying my eyes out, I decided to take a small little shower.
I got out of the shower and was putting my clothes back on, until I heard a gunshot from outside. I gasped scared and Raegan ran up to me, grabbing my hand tightly and taking me downstairs with the others.
Raegan cleared her throat then gathered everybody around, “Listen, the Russians have found us, so we need to go into hiding. Joseph, Aquafina, hide in the closet upstairs. The rest of us will hide down here.”
Joseph and I nodded and we ran upstairs, locking the bedroom door and hiding in the closet, our bodies almost touching. I rolled my eyes at Joseph irritated, “Ugh.” Joseph scowled at me, “Is there ever a time where you don’t act like a princess?” I glared at with resentment and he glared at me back.
Raegan groaned irritated at us, “Can you stop acting like 6 year olds? You two are fucking adults, almost 30 years old to be exact.” I fake-smiled at Joseph and said harshly to him, “At least I don’t look like a damn 12 year old.” Joseph yelled at me, “At least I don’t fuck every person I meet. Save that for the strip club, won’t you?”
I fired back at Joseph defensively, “Oh, you wanna take it that far? Okay, why don’t you save your autism for the mental facility?” Joseph gasped offended and Raegan facepalmed. I pointed at Joseph accusingly, “It’s all his fault.” Raegan sighed and locked the closet door on us, walking away.
Once Raegan left, I huffed out annoyed and crossed my arms, looking away from Joseph, “You’re still here?” Joseph glared at me, “I was forced to. If I had the option to, I’d escape this shithole just so I don’t have to see you.” I scoffed at Joseph, “I don’t speak boyshit, sorry.” Suddenly, out of nowhere, Joseph and I looked at eachother and we kissed passionately.
After our kiss, we heard gunshots and I peeked through the closet to see what was going on. Joseph looked at me confused and whispered, “What’s going on?” I whispered back to him, still looking, “There are military troops searching in our room.” Joseph went beside me and looked at me, “Aqua, you’re the strongest and most powerful girl I know. Take those assholes down.” I looked at Joseph and held his face in my hands, “Promise me you’ll be okay.” Joseph looked into my eyes and nodded to me, “I will, but don’t worry about me.” I slowly nodded and exited out of the closet, approaching the troops, “Hi.” They said sternly back to me, “Hi.” Joseph was watching from inside the closet as I was trying to use my telekinesis to kill the troops, but there was a small problem. My powers were gone. The troops tried shooting at me and I closed my eyes, trying to still unlock my telekinesis, but nope. I started freaking out, until I heard a few gunshots and saw all the troops fall to the ground bleeding. I looked in front of me to see Blonde Lady in a camouflage warrior outfit and I started crying tears of joy, “Blonde Lady?” Blonde Lady cried and nodded to me, “Yes, daughter, it’s me.” I started crying harder and I hugged Blonde Lady tightly. Blonde Lady hugged me back and kissed my head, “How have you been, Aqua?” I looked up at her with tears in my eyes, “Not the best, but I’m trying to be happier.” Blonde Lady smiled at me and opened the closet to see Joseph, “Hi Joseph.” Joseph waved to Blonde Lady confused, “Hi?” Blonde Lady looked at me and asked, “Are you and Joseph still together?” I looked at Joseph and he replied back to Blonde Lady sadly, “No, we broke up.” I sat beside Joseph and held his face in my hands again, “It was for the best. We can’t keep going from fighting to fucking, it’s not healthy.” Joseph slowly nodded emotionless and all 3 of us hugged and comforted eachother.
Chapter 26- Raegan:
After coming downstairs after checking up on Joseph and Aquafina, I saw Roger storm out and I was debating on whether to confront him or not. I decided not to because god knows what he’s currently going through.
Roger stormed out of the house and climbed on top of the roof of the tallest building in LA. Ross held a knife under Roger’s throat and smirked at him, “Hey, nerd, are you ready to die?” Rita glared at Ross, “Babe, no, stop.” Ross smirked at Rita, “Nope, I don’t think I will.”
Rita looked at Roger concerned, “Rog, don’t let him get to you. I don’t know what the fuck’s up with him.” I finally spotted Roger on the tallest building’s rooftop and I said crying to him, “Babe, no, please don’t do anything to yourself.” Roger nervously looked at Ross and his knife then looked at Raegan and Rita. Rita pleaded to Roger, “Roger, suicide is not the answer to any of this. Please try to stay alive for me and Raegan…” I started tearing up then looked down at the city below, “I’m just a nerd. None of you would care if I died.” I held Roger’s face in my hands crying, “Roger, I would care. Rita would care. Don’t die on us, goddammit.”
Roger saw Ross sharpening his knife and he gulped then kissed me one last time, “I’m sorry. I love you.” I kissed him back then pulled away crying as Roger stepped towards the edge of the rooftop and eventually fell down. Roger died right in front of my eyes. I started breaking down in tears and sunk into Rita’s arms, wishing I was the one who died instead.
Chapter 27- Violeta:
Growling Filipino and I were walking in the woods and I had my bow & arrow on hand. Growling Filipino said to me sadly, “I hope Aquafina and Joseph don’t get killed.”
I looked down at the gravel road and replied back to him, “They won’t. We won’t let them die.” Growling Filipino sighed then looked at me, “I guess you’re right.”
I chuckled then replied back to him, “I’m always right.” Growling Filipino chuckled too then responded back, “Fine, I admit it, you are.” I giggled lightly when he said that and I got my bow & arrow out and shot a deer with it.
Growling Filipino raised an eyebrow at me, “You hunt?” I nodded then put my bow & arrows back in their place, “Yep, I’ve been hunting since I was 10.” Growling Filipino asked me curiously, “What got you into hunting?” I shrugged then responded back to him, “My father. I don’t get to see him anymore because he’s in jail.”
Growling Filipino had a sad look on his face, “Anything else I should know about you?” I sighed then responded back to him, “My mom, who’s super religious by the way, threatened to disown me and cut me off if I ever came out as LGBT to her.”
Growling Filipino had tears developing in his eyes and asked me in a raspy voice, “D-did she?” I hesitated and stopped walking, looking down at the ground, “She did. So I’m just here alone now.” Growling Filipino sadly pouted then rubbed my shoulder comfortingly, “Hey, it’s okay. You have me.” I softly smiled at him and responded back, “I guess I do.” Growling Filipino smiled back at me and we sat down on a huge log in the woods. I looked at Growling Filipino and drank some Gatorade, “What’s your story?” Growling Filipino looked me confused, “My story?” I nodded then set my Gatorade down on the grass, “Yeah, what’s your story?”
Chapter 28- Growling Filipino:
I admired Violeta from the log and she caught me staring at her. I cleared my throat then stared off into the distance, “Well, I don’t have an entertaining story.” Violeta pouted then whined to me, “Please just tell me your story.”
I sighed then looked at her then looked at the sky, “When I was born, my parents didn’t care about me. They questioned whether to abort me or keep me alive.”
Violeta looked at me sympathetically as I continued, “So, they decided to keep me alive. I was never supposed to be born, I was an accidental birth. A few years later, I was on my way downstairs to tell my parents that I was ready for bed, but as soon as I went down, my parents were screaming at eachother. The screaming soon turned into physical abuse.”
Violeta got a tear in her eye and quickly wiped it off. I looked down at the ground sadly then continued, “Then in middle school, I was bullied because of my speech impairment and my looks. People always ask me why I growl all the time and it’s because I’m scared to talk because of my speech impairment. I’m not Growling Filipino, I’m Nathaniel Ocampo from Manila, not Growling Filipino from Los Angeles.”
Violeta rubbed my hand comfortingly and looked in my eyes, “Well, wanna know what I think of Nathaniel?” I looked back into her eyes and responded back, “Yeah.” Violeta sniffled and started softly crying, “I think he’s amazing.” A few minutes later after admiring eachother, we went into the dorm room and started taking off eachother’s clothes. And, you know, we started getting steamy with eachother.
Chapter 29- Raegan:
Back at the house, I was throwing pennies at the kitchen cupboard to knock down some Smartfood popcorn. Roger walked in and sighed, “You know, that’s not going to work.”
I scowled at him and kept throwing the pennies at the cupboard, “Says you.” Roger noticed I had an angry expression on my face and asked me concerned, “Are you okay?”
I rolled my eyes at him then responded back quietly, “No….” Roger grabbed the pennies away from me and held my face close to his, “What’s wrong?” I sighed then responded back to him, “I’m just scared about this whole Communist situation.”
Roger sighed and caressed my cheeks, “Don’t be scared, baby, we’ll be fine. I know it.” I nodded hesitantly then sat on the couch sadly, “You know, I feel really bad for Joseph and Aquafina. They just aren’t them anymore.” Roger sighed again then sat beside me, “Well, they broke up, of course they aren’t them anymore.”
I nodded again then said to Roger, “I don’t want us ending up like them.” Roger pouted then kissed my head, “We won’t. I know we won’t.” I nodded again and heard my phone vibrate. I picked it up quickly and saw a text from Dominic. I looked at Roger then said to him, “I have to go.” Roger saw me stand up and walk to the door and he asked me upset, “Where are you going? We have communists after us.” I said back to him in an angry way, “Well, screw the commies.” I waved goodbye to Roger and ran to Dominic, who was waiting outside for me in his Jeep.
Chapter 30- Alex:
I was on the couch and scrolling through my Joseph photo album on my phone. Roger had a huge bag of popcorn in his hands and sat down next to me, “What’s up, babe? How much data does your phone have?”
I sighed sadly and shut my phone off completely, “Who gives a fuck?” Roger widened his eyes in shock and apologized sadly, “I’m sorry.” Roger sighed and sat in the recliner in the living room. 15 minutes later, Joseph was walking down the stairs to get something to drink and he smiled at me, “Hey.”
I gazed into his eyes with tear and said in a raspy voice back to him, “Hey…”. Joseph frowned and sat beside me, putting an arm around me, “Hey, tell me what’s wrong.” I started crying even harder and replied back to him, “You betrayed me. You act like you didn’t do a damn thing, but you did! You did!”
Joseph looked at me with a tear in his eye, “Alex, I’m sorry…” I fired back at Joseph defensively, “No! You’re not! Maybe if you were gay like me, none of this would be happening!”
Joseph rolled his eyes at me irritated and yelled back at me, “Maybe if you weren’t a manipulative little faggot, we wouldn’t be here arguing like fucking 12 year olds right now!” I punched Joseph in the face harshly and screamed at him, “I can’t believe I ever loved you! Fuck you!” I saw Joseph bleeding severely and I just walked away, rinsing all the blood on my hands in the sink.
Chapter 31- Aquafina:
Once nobody was around, I looked around in all directions and snuck out the house’s windows to go to Jiu’s house. Let’s say that we’ve been talking for around a month, that was before the breakup with Joseph.
I went into Jiu’s treehouse and backhugged her cutely, “Hey there.” Jiu giggled and asked me curiously, “Why are you here when commies are after you?” I sighed and sat in front of Jiu with a small pillow between my lap, “I just wanted to tell you something.”
Jiu sighed and flopped down on the couch and put her hand against her head while looking at me, “Okay? What’s up?” I gulped then looked down, “You know, I hated you. I wanted nothing to do with you. I despised you with my whole heart and wanted to give you hell and ruin your life.” Jiu looked in my eyes intensely and I decided to keep going. I sighed then continued nervously, “But then I realized I liked you.” Jiu jolted up from the couch in shock and I started crying to her, “Maybe I am a cheater, maybe I am a manipulative little freak, but I’m not talking bullshit. I really like you.” Jiu went up to me slowly and placed a strand of hair behind my ear, “I didn’t expect that.” I wiped my tears then said in a raspy voice to her, “And you didn’t expect this.”
Jiu looked at me confused as I suddenly kissed her on the lips softly. A few seconds later, Jiu pushed me away and ran away crying. I caught up to her and grabbed her arm aggressively, “I’m sorry, it’s just- it’s your fault.” Jiu glared at me angrily, “You didn’t just go there, Aqua. How the hell is it my fault?” I responded back to her shyly, “It’s your fault…” Jiu yelled at me angrily, “SHUT THE HELL UP! ITS NOT! STOP WITH THE VICTIM MENTALITY ALREADY!” After she said that, she drove away in her car to her mother’s house.
