The main difference between our screening process and the actual screening process is that in actual wastewater treatment plants metal bars are used. In real life, they use an automated process in which a scraper that stretches across the tank in one direction moves along the tank in the other direction. The main difference between our experiment and real life wastewater treatment plants is that we didn't use actual organisms that eat nutrients. Consequently, this step didn't have much of an effect on the actual quality of our wastewater. In the real life process, organisms are added that eat the Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorous.

Then, we poured it into the disinfection beaker while using a finger as a filter to make sure the secondary sludge remained behind. In the real process, water slows down, allowing the secondary sludge to settle at the bottom, and then the clear water at the top flows out.
