Weitz does believe in the horrors of the Holocaust because she lived it. I think she thinks its harder for people who haven't lived it to understand the pain and suffering. Because of the brutality of the Holocaust we can learn that we do not want to repeat similar behavior in the fututre.

I think that it is hard for someone like Weitz who has been through the horrors of the Holocaust to be able to relate to others about them, especially having lost her entire family other than her sister, they only have each other to relate to. By studying the brutality of the Holocaust we can try to understand more about what people went through, although we'll never be able to fully understand it.

She describes the pain and the loss of lives and we can hear her anger towards the whole thing. She does not understand how children can be killed and no one from mankind does anything. We can gain an understanding of the war and how terrible it was.

I think that Weitz has trouble putting into words the horrors of the Holocaust. I think Weitz struggles relating to people because of this because her perspective is so real and extremely sensitive for her to express and compare. What we gain from studying the brutality of the Holocaust is a sense of respect for those impacted. Although we may never fully understand it, it is important for us to ask questions and be educated on this crucial life altering period of time.
